Capital One SUCKS

I have been with Capital One since 2000. Admittedly there were a couple of yearas when I was going through some financial troubles, and they my life a living you know what. Since 2008, my bills have not only been paid on time, but I have made several in full payments and when the balance was a little high, I paid way more than the minimum required. Two weeks ago I noticed I had scheduled a payment for more than I intended, and immediately tried to cancel the payment online. Their system would not allow me to do so, and re-directed me to call customer service. What a mess that was! First of all, it is glaringly obvious they outsouce to another country (I suspect the Phillipines), and the rep was so cheesy and not very empathetic. He promsied me up and down he had corrected the payment amount and not to worry. Imagine my shock when I signed onto my checking account and saw that the original amount had been drafted! I immediately called Capital One, and got another cheesy rep, who acted like he cared, and over complimented me and apologized for the error and said the funds would be available in 5 business days. I patiently waited the five days, and it came and went and still NO monies! I called back, and got another rep who initally told me no such refund was being processed, then she said, "oh wait a minute, I see it. I think it will be there by Tuesday of next week." I was not happy with the "I think" answer, and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was even less helpful, and refused to take any action to rectify the situation. I finally filed a complaint with the BBB, and saw that I had missed a call from their Consumer Affairs Department. The funds have been placed back into my account FINALLY this morning, so I will call them back and re-express my displeasure.

CrapitalOne sucks! Poor customer service, slow and incompetent.

I had an issue with a scam/merchant and CRAP1 sided with the merchant and I wasted hours of time on the phone (dealing with numerous turds/employees) and lost >$500. Hopefully both companies will be out of business in the near future.

Same thing here. I had a scam charge in April 27th, it is now July 30 and it still hasn't been resolved and they treated me as though I was the criminal.

Sorry to hear you had a *** ordeal with Capital One. I am going through something VERY similar to you and just filed a compliant with the Better Business Bureau as well.

Glad you were able to finally get it resolved but sorry it took so long.

Sadly, I can totally relate to what you are going through. :cry

I have been a customer of Capital One's for three years now. I have three bank accounts with them, two credit cards and a savings account.

As of two weeks ago, they locked me out of my credit cards, but can't tell me why. As of today, they have locked me out of my bank accounts and can't tell me why.

They keep sending me to technical support and these idiots don't have a clue. I am closing all of my accounts with Capital One and I would not advise anyone to use them in the future.

For their Spark Business Card I had a 0% offer for 12 months that was coming due. Payoff or go to high interest rate.

Just at that time I got a new offer and paid a $50 fee for another balance transfer for 0% for 12 months. When the first one came due, I made a $2000 payment. They applied it to the one I had just taken out.

Now my first offer is at the interest rate for purchases and I have to pay interest on it every month. It is easy to see what was intended by me and what should have been done but they are unethical and won't do it!

The representative is very rude to the customer, and her accent is very hard to understand (Completely Indian accent). The line is so noisy like the free market.

I asked her about the survey about the service after her rudeness, she suddenly said to me nicely. She might be scared me to yelp her on the survey I guess!!! Horrible experience. Capital One Pls do something about your customer service, Otherwise you will lose so many customers.

Most of my friends got the same terrible service. We are so disappointed !!!

Harassed by Capital One

I lost my job 4 years ago and haven't been able to find anything since I live in northern MI and there are no jobs here. I'm fortunate enough to live in the home my parents willed to myself and my brothers and sisters. I use firewood I find in the woods near my home. I'm getting food stamps and I woundn't even be able to go the the store if my family didn't send me money for gas. I owe Capital one $1200. and the intrest has added up to $1500. I know people who have owed Thousands in more than one credit card and they file bankrupcy and it's all wiped clean. I can't even afford to file bankrupcy.

Capital One sent condolence letter six years too late

A customer of Capital One for over ten years..after calling to activate my credit card, I was asked if I wanted the "other" card on the account activated. I had to explain the other card belonged to my spouse-who i had to explain was deceased. Days later I randomly received a letter conveying " their sincerest condolences" for the loss of my husband ( who passed away six years ago). The letter was curt and insensitive, not to mention the timing of it was completely unacceptable. It was appalling to open this computer generated letter, signed by no one. This company does not care about its customers and sends automated, heartless condolence letters without regard for the recipient or how this might make them feel. Capital one should either send a sincere note in a timely manner or nothing at all.

Capitol One unnecessary information?

I recently was approved credit from Capitol One. After I made my first purchase ($6.88) my card ended up being restricted the next day. I called customer service and they said I needed to fax them my drivers licence, social security card, and bank statements to "prove" that I am who I claim to be. A normal 18 year old probably would have let that fly over their head and just send it right away, but I actually have some sense and think that has identity theft written all over it. I may just be paranoid. I told them to just cancel my account because I refused to send that information, and they told me they could not cancel it WITHOUT that information. That seemed a little sketchy as well. I don't know if that has happened to anyone else, but if it has I would like for you to let me know what you did to resolve it, or anyone just post for advice, thank you!

It's known within the company as an EAM Early Authorization Management if I recall correctly. It has several triggers that set it off. Usually the triggers are really obvious high risk transactions. By high risk I mean that you are possibly high risk. The most common trigger in the EAM category is a cash advance or withdrawal. Because you are a brand new client, usually with a low credit limit, a cash withdrawal is a very high risk transaction. Because, hey, they are trying to make money. This goes back a ways so bear with me.

Back in the day, capital one had set up automated machines that would approve you for a credit card on site in their banks and other places. If you were approved, and most were, it would spit out a card embossed with your name and you were good to go. Many of the Capitol one bank employees witnessed a lot of people taking the card walking two feet to the ATM and withdrawing 200 dollars and then throw the card in the trash and walk out.

So, they have taken steps to avoid losing money whilst still giving people an opportunity to build credit and make them money. My advice to you and anyone reading this, as a former Senior Account Manager, (now moved on to a professional career in another field) do not close the account. Your credit report will show this. The documents are just to be able to track you down if you default on your card. But I'm guessing if you were responsible enought to read this, you won't have too much of an issue.

Pay your balance in full every month and you won't get any interest and you'll build credit.

Good luck to you.

Guest

"I may just be paranoid" I would agree with that. If you were speaking with Capital One, why would you not trust them?

It's not like you received an unsolicited phone call asking for that info. Certainly good to be wary, but I think you might be overreacting, clearly (IMO) they have a question about YOUR identity and are trying to do the right thing by verifying it.

Capital one is full of it

I had made my regular $15 monthly payment. I scheduled it, reviewed it, and even checked the laptop to make sure it went through. It did...so sure enough the next business day i had been charged the full amount owed. I didn't have this in my bank account so i was overdrawn. i did a stop payment and now everytime i call they give me 20 different payments (after i paid 25 to unrestrict my card) i owe and apologize out of their ***. i'm done and filing a complaint with the attorney general! they accuse me of making a butt dial payment...how the *** is this possible...did my butt go to capitalone.com with my phone and log in, then select a payment amount? TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR MISTAKES CAPITAL ONE WITHOUT ANY PROOF YOU CAN NOT BLAME YOUR CUSTOMERS. THANK YOU.

Capitol One - Deceptive Practices

2011 I made a purchase at best buy using the credit card with defered interest. two monts later I made another purchase. the first had to be paid off by may 17 2012. So after making all payments early on May 14 I made an extra Payment of $800 to pay off the first purchase which should have paid off the first purchase plus a little just to be safe. may 29 I finished paying off the balance as shown on my statement. today Aug. 10, 2012 I get a call that I am 2 months behind and owe 652 on the account. They say I was $74 short on paying of fthe first purchase. So for thier incorrect calculations I had to pay 600 to keep them from fraudulantly damaging my credit further. The rep said several times "pay now or we will continue to damage your credit". He knew up to this point I had PERFECT credit , never even a late payment in over 20 years. So I paid but when he was recording my authorization of the payment he would not accept it when I said " Yes I agree to the payment but under deress". He siad I could only say yes......can you say "SCAM" and they know it. They are as crooked as they come. And don''t bother asking to speek to a supervisor because they do not call you back as promised. Yet another example of their worthless customer service. I hope they see this and call but I know they wont because they DO NOT CARE as long as they get thier money even if it is by telling thier reps to threaten the consumers credit score...WAY TO GO..also Best Buy just lost a good paying customer.

Capitol One fraudulently added charges to account

Capital One - Capitol One fraudulently added charges to account

Capital One - Capitol One fraudulently added charges to account - Image 3

Had Capitol One card, got laid off and used paymen t protection. Capitol One added over draft fees, lates fees on when there was not over the limit, was not late.

Paid account in full when returned to work on 01/04/2010. Managers had removed all fees that were fraudulently applied. Went to court on 01/23/2012 and Capitol Ones Attny had it dismissed. Judge signed the paperwork 3 weeks later as there were no costs or fees to either party.

On 03/15/12 receive bill from Capitol One with added court fees. That is blantant disregard for court order.

I will be posting all over internet copies of bills with fraudulent fees, court order and the new bill. I am going to storngly suggest that anyone who has Capiyol One for a credit card do a forensic research on their account to have all fraudulent fees removed as this is common practice for them.

I have gone thru the courts, have a dismissal from a judge, have sent copies of the fraudulent fees on the statements (actual copies of statements)to government agencies, Capitol One and Credit bureau reporting a copy of the judgement. Capitol One Attorney had the case dismissed and would not go to trial due to the fraudulent fees showing on the account.

I have done everything to get this off, credit report, sending copy of judgement, Capitol One Attny has all original Statements showing the fraudulent fees (reason for dismissal) there is not one Government agency that you contact that will actually look at the statements and send a letter without a Capitol One letter head. Those people get bonus by what is collected. I pray for them Romans 12:19 - 21.

I am a Mortgage Loan Counselor and see alot of those types of people that will lie to customers to get bonus, That is wrong and I do not understand how greed became the most important thing in peoples lives. If we do the right thing by other people the rewards will come honestly.

Mandi,

That card has been shut down for over 2 years, paid off for uver 2 years. I am making sure everyone who encounters them knows going in they are a fraudulent company.

We just need the Government to get involved or an Attorney who is not afraid to go after them, so far ther aren't any attorneys willing to take them on. Sad really.

Guest

I hope you closed the account considering you posted your credit card number online.

John N Mzy

My advice: ignore any and all bills from Capitol One. Your credit has already been affected and not paying what you consider erroneous charges will not help.

You might wish to send a certified letter to them outlining why you believe the charges are erroneous. If you wish to obtain a free credit report with a free credit score, go to "creditkarma.com"

Just follow the directions. They have ads trying to get you to apply for a new card, etc. based on your results, but just say not, etc.

The end result will be interesting and a way to check your credit score for free and see if there are any adverse items on your credit report. By the way, never, ever pay for "payment protection" etc.

from credit card companies. A waste of money.

Capital One: All Up In Your Wallet!

I received a notice from one of Capital One's collection agencies indicating I owe Cap One past debt. I responded in writing, as directed, to dispute the assertion. Cap One's attorneys then promptly sued me without an attempt to solve the problem. Now I'm stuck going to court this week. I have no doubt that I'll get the shaft; I'm very ignorant in court matters. Apparently greed runs the show at Capital One rather than ethical operations and customer care. It's no wonder they have the lowest customer service rating of any credit card. Alex Oren

My husband and I were making monthly payments on our Capital One account (loan) without any problems for several years. However for several months in a row, when we submitted two checks from our separate bank accounts one check (always mine) would disappear and not get credited to our account.

My husband would call their customer service (which by the way has HORRIBLE business hours) and try to resolve the matter - this happened for several months and then we started getting calls from their collection service....really when it was CO's fault for losing the checks to begin with? We finally had enough of their lousy service and paid off the bill. Never again will I ever do business with CO.

Consumer beware. I have had Citibank and Chase credit cards for years without any problems.

Capital One destroyed my credit!

Capital One ruined my credit right as I was buying my house. I paid my card off three months ago and checked my account the following month verifying my zero balance.

The month after that they managed to charge interest of $3.03 after showing zero balance over a whole billing cycle following the payofc. I never received a bill. My wife received a call from the loan company saying our new home was falling out of escrow because two 30 day lates showed on my credit report which absolutely tanked it. Capital One even told me it was a calculation error.

I LOST MY HOME DUE TO THEIR $3 ERROR!!! If I had received my usual bill or even a phone call for a payment being late I would be moving into my newly built home in three weeks. They said they've straightened out the issue and are re-reporting on my credit, but it slammed my credit score by 40 points. My loan officer doesn't think the correction will fully restore my score in time to close on the house.

I am so distraught right now I can't think straight. My wife and I were buying our first home and if things don't work out over the next week I will lose my house.

Capital One Credit Card Incompetent Customer Service

My issues with customer service started shortly after I submitted the application with the request of 3 other cards for our employees. I immediately noticed that although I had given all the Owners personal info, it did not list him as having a card to be issued. I just assumed that the company owner would be issued a card and therefore didn't add him to my additional card list. I immediately called and was informed that since I didn't list him to have a card issued in my application one would not be issued. I tried to have his name added at that point, but was told their computer would not allow this and I would just have to wait until the other cards arrived to add any other card holders. All of the cards were then incorrectly mailed to the Owners personal address and not the Business address itself. When I called to change it I was of course told that I couldn't have any access to any account info. I requested to speak to a Manager (waited 10 min for him to answer) and spent another 10 min to make him understand that the mailing address error was on their part not mine and that the correction should be made using the application and should not require special permission. Because I did needed to make other changes to the account we did end up contacting the Owner to request his approval, but that this approval would only be for the day. At that point I wanted to confirm that I would be able to increase our credit limit as was I was told in a previous call to Capital One prior to my application submittal. I was put on hold for 5 minutes and was then told it had been denied and that I would get the reason why in the mail in 5-7 business days. I needed to OK that with the Owner and asked if I could call him right back. He refused to give me his direct line, but assured me that he would make all the notes in our file, and that I could speak to any customer service agent. When I called back 5 minutes later, I was once again told that I didn't have access to our account and the owner would have to call in himself. I immediately asked to speak to a Manager who also said he couldn't give me any info and that there were no notes in my file saying that I had previously called. He just kept saying that he would have to be contacted by the owner. ARE YOU KIDDING??? I made him check a few times and he insisted that I had never called. There are some serious employee problems at "Capital One" Customer Service, no one seems to be on the same page. Everyone has a different answers to the same question. Honestly, this is the first compliant I have ever written. I like to give everyone the "benefit of the doubt", but this was just plain incompetence! Their award should be changed to "Incompetent Customer Service Award"

Capital One has the most complaints of all the major credit card issuers. Best to stay away from it.

They advertize alot, but all that does is deceive viewers into believing it is a good card to have.

It is not. Get a card from your bank or credit union instead.

I HATE CAPITAL ONE

We have had a Capital One card for years. Recently (last several months), they have been "holding payments for 4 busness days." I have also always used the automated phone payment system which has now become frustrating and cumbersome. These 2 events seem to have coincided. The auto pay system takes you all the way through very smoothly until you get to the account you wish to use, which is incorrect. I give the routing # & account number all over again, it then am asked if I would like this number to be the permanent acct number on file. I answer "yes" & get transferred to a foreign customer service rep & have to give all of the info AGAIN!! The 4 business days extrends beyond that time frame also. I have never, ever had this much trouble making payments on any account. It is certainly motivation to close out the account.

To that lady that has had trouble making her payment I have just one thing to say first I love capital one and second it is not that they hold your payment they have 24 to 48 hours to take the money third if that is all I had to worry about my god that is small compared to trying to find a place to rent that does not cost an arm and a leg or find someone to hold a owner contract or buy a place because your bankruptcy is less than 2 years old by 4 months they dont even give you a pre approval to see what you qualify for to buy so if you think your small problem is big wear my shoes for awhile to see for your self I live in washington state. Thanks for reading this. Carol Davis

The payments are treated as ach debits...they receive the money instantly. Quit complaining and pay you bills.

If you have filed for bankruptcy, obviously you don't know how to handle credit. Take ownership of your situation.

I pay my bills in full each month and have a 780 credit score and had my house paid off in six years, all due to good management of income and expenses. The person made a post regarding difficulties making a payment he/she has the cash for and the troubled system and you made it about you're pathetic life

Capital one and their payment protection program

First off I would like to say to the *** that is talking down about capital one, YOU ARE WRONG! I am giving this review from the standpoint of someone who has had credit card trouble in the past, and honestly, I hate credit cards, but capital one is great!

I have had sooo many late fees with them because of MY OWN FAILURE to pay on time, and they have never once, not once, argued with me about removing the late fees, they are so awesome about that! I have also heard so many people complain about the payment protection, and how it costs $29.00 a month. Obviously you are getting other charges, because payment protection is 1% of the total cost of the bill. So $100 bill = $1 a month.

Anyway, last year I lost my job, and payment protection payed $30 a month for a year!! They paid out so much more then I paid in, and today I called payment protection because I couldn't make my card payment this month and they made my payment for me. Not only that, but the gentleman on the line told me that each of my cards could receive a once a year emergency payment, so to make sure that I spend some money on my other card so I could use the emergency payment, lol. Can you believe that, they told me to spend money on my other card so they could make the payment for me!

All I can say is WOW. Capital one is great. I asked the young man on the line why people complain, and he said most people wait like 2 years before they try to activate. I was thinking about activating again for the second time because I am still out of work, and I asked him if I had to be actually employed by a company, or if it would work if my income stopped, he said "all we are concerned about is that you had income and now you dont.

I actually declined the service for right now because they made an emergency payment for this month, but he actually wanted to set it up to pay my bills for me. WOW again. Anyone who says capital one is no good is probably no good themselves, they have always been so great to me. My only complaint, if I have to put one is the fact that most of the time there is an indian on the other line at capital one that I have a hard time understanding, but one way or another, indian or not, they still always take care of me.

They are always like, it was my pleasure to remove your late fee. Thanks capital one!!

Consumer bureau dishes first penalties, hits Capital One for ‘deceptive’ practices

By Peter Schroeder - 07/18/12 10:28 AM ET

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is ordering Capital One to pay $165 million for engaging in "deceptive marketing practices" as it marketed credit cards.

The joint enforcement action by the bureau, in conjunction with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), marks the first time the new bureau has flexed its enforcement muscle since opening its doors roughly a year ago.

“Today’s action puts $140 million back in the pockets of 2 million Capital One customers who were pressured or misled into buying credit card products they didn’t understand, didn’t want or, in some cases, couldn’t even use,” said CFPB Director Richard Cordray. “We are putting companies on notice that these deceptive practices are against the law and will not be tolerated.”

Under the penalty, Capital One will pay a $25 million fine, as well as another $140 million to 2 million customers who signed up for credit cards while the lender was engaged in marketing services to customers without fully explaining the terms. The OCC also is demanding that an additional $10 million from Capital One be paid out to consumers harmed by unfair billing practices. The OCC is also assessing an additional $35 million penalty.

The move, which comes just days before the one-year anniversary of the CFPB opening its doors, marks a significant new step for the creation of the Dodd-Frank financial reform law. Previously, the bureau had drafted rules, initiated investigations and collected data on consumer financial products, but Wednesday's move marks the first time the bureau has actually levied penalties for practices it deems harmful to consumers.

In particular, the CFPB is punishing Capital One for marketing add-on products to credit cards, such as payment protection and credit monitoring. The bureau said the company's call centers marketed the products to consumers with low credit scores or limits using "high-pressure tactics."

Company representatives misled consumers about the benefits of the products, did not always depict them as optional or marketed them to customers who were unable to utilize the benefits. Some call-center vendors even enrolled consumers in add-on products without their consent, or led them to believe the products did not carry added costs.

In a statement, Capital One said third-party vendors did not always follow company scripts when marketing cards, and the bank failed to adequately monitor them.

"We are accountable for the actions that vendors take on our behalf," said Ryan Schneider, president of the bank's card lending business. "These marketing calls were inconsistent with the explicit instructions we provided to agents for how these products should be sold. We apologize to those customers who were impacted and we are committed to making it right."

Capital One has agreed to end its marketing practices as part of the penalty, and will submit to an independent audit to ensure its policies are changed as demanded.

I don't work for capital one, I never have. I work for LG home electronics.

Capital one has always been great to me, and their payment protection has always been there for me when I need them. I understand you're frustrated but they have never denied me a payment, in fact they are paying my bills right now.

I really hate when uneducated individuals say, "you must be an employee. " most employees don't care about consumer reviews.

They spend enough time out of their day working for the company. Why on earth would they go home, hop on the pc and read/write moronic reviews? Not only that, employees don't own the company, just because you decided to not do business... many others still do.

They will still have a job at the end of the day.

The payment protection they offer is a scam.I had it on my card, got laid off due to company cut backs, called customer service they said apply for your payment insurance through the insurance co..(they gave me the name and number where to call)...I tried to do that for a year with no satisfaction...kept getting the run around, filed a complaint with BBB,they wouldn't even respond to them....I was paying for that coverage every month and when it was needed it wasn't there......they are a ripoff...

I have payment protection on my Capital One Mastercard. I lost my job, and I called to activate my benefits.

I called FOUR times, and each time they told me to call back in 24 hours. Each time I called back, they gave me the runaround.

It seems like they are trying to annoy me into giving up. I'm wondering why I even chose to have this benefit if I can't even use it!

If it's 1% of your spending, how do you come to the conclusion that someone wouldn't pay $29/mo? That's only $2,900.

I'd watch out, Dbluck, because most of the customers CapitalOne is suing are the ones who made a claim on their payment protection. They decided they didn't actually want to pay out, only charge customers a fee. I'm pissed b/c I didn't realize I had this for 2 years and I was involuntarily signed up for it. I had cc debt that took a while to pay off and the pp fees were always lumped into my interest.

Very sneaky... I always assumed it was an extra fee b/c I was a high risk customer w/ unpaid debt.

I say it's not 29 a month because someone said that was their standard charge no matter what they have on their card. I'm smarter than your average poster on here, I know what one percent of 2900 is.

Point is, they have ways been good to me. Life changing events, lost job, fmla, payment protection has always been there for me.

Double Booked my credit card for same flight

I booked a flight on cheapo air and when i was finished entering all my info, including credit card info, i was blown off the site. I went back to cheapo air and called the customer service number listed on the site. I asked if my credit card had been charged. the agent had me wait on hold for 15 minutes and came back and informed me that my credit card had not been charged. The agent then said she could book the flight for me. I gave her all the info on flights, times and dates and she re-booked the flights. On the 28th of June I received my credit statement and I was charged twice for the flight. After talking to my credit card company, US Airways and Onetravel .com I was told to fax a copy of my credit card bill to onetravel.com for review. I have not heard back from them and i am out $375.90.

Your credit card company just processes what the merchant sends them, Capital One did not make the charge twice - you did and got bad info from the travel agent. Why is it your credit card companies fault that YOU booked two tickets - even if you got bad information they did not give it to you.

And just how the *** is this capital ones fault? They aren't minds readers.

There are people who make multiple purchases to the same company ... for the same amount...

on the same day. Blame the merchant and get your self a better pc and Internet connection.

Capital One & I

... I go back with the *** since 1992 when the punk outfit was called Signet Bank... Took me over 5 yrs to get rid of those rotten parasites... I was 'late' on payments even though I mailed them 10 days before, Yea!... And and it would take them 4 MONTHS to credit my account.... NO KIDDIN!!! I applied for 2 more of their funky cards, and with the 3 ran up a $12,000 bill..-:) I live in So. Calif and we can 'opt out' if we don't want bill collectors' calls. But man these creeps must own their own forest, for the amount of letters I got... Anyway when the 'timing' was right, 5yrs later (1.5 yrs ago) I paid them $1,100 and forced them to delete all the accounts off the 3 bureaus.. (PS: paid as agreed is No Good--- beware) The only major ding in my credit reports vanished into thin air... HA HA HA...

Takes them 2-3 weeks to post a payment, even after the money has cleared the bank.

No joke. I opened an account with these bastards when I was barely 18 years old because I needed money for college.

I paid payments for 2 years then fell on hard times and closed the account with about $1,000 balance. I moved a few times and forgot all about them. They never took me to court. Earlier this year (10 YEARS LATER) some collection agency calls me up, "Uhhh yeahhh Mizz Mar-Martian?" (It was Mar-shand).

"Uhhh yeahh...we wit uhhh collection agency attempting to collect a debt for Capital One." I rack my brain and remember the account...I ask if the account had ever went to court (it hadn't), so I ask why they are even trying to collect when they can't legally take me to court? The operator gets all flustered and ends up yelling at me to pay my debt, I laughed and told her they should have sued me when they could and to stop calling me.

Lied about payment arrangements

I filed bankruptcy but didnt include my ar because I wanted to keep it. I was told that I could'nt make payments during that time until discharged. I admit I should have been saving the payments but was facing financial hardships at the time. Once I was discharged, I contacted Capital One & was told to allow 45 days for the system to be updated. 1 month later, I receved a call telling me that I owed $2500 tp bring the account current. I told them I needed 2 weeks to do so. When I called them once I got the money they told me that the car was in repo status and the account was charged off and to contact a 3rd party. I never received anything or a phone call indicating that I had so many days to bring the account current and had I not called them after being discharged, I wouldnt have known that I needed to pay $2500. Bottom line, I lost my vehicle and now they claim that I can redeem it for $3500 which ic reposession fees, late fees, and past due payments. If they would have let me pay the $2500 before hand, I wouldnt have this issue. And after reading other complaints, Im now afraid to send them $3500 if they are still going to keep or sell my vehicle. They SUCK donkey balls!

Important rule of bankruptcy, always list all debts that you owe. This protects all your assets until the bankruptcy petition is resolved. By not including your car in the petition, you left yourself vulnerable to having your car repossessed.
