I received a letter from the IRS regarding a 1099C Form that was submitted to them by Capital One doe $5,760.00. The IRS rep advised me to call Capital One directly for a corrected 1099C Form.

The funny this was when I called Capital One, they asked me to provide them with my address, as it wasn't on file. My question was how did you submit a 1099C to the IRS if you don't have my address.

Not to mention that I've NEVER had any type of account with Capital One. PO to the max and I will file a complaint through the VA Attorney General's office.

Um the harassment is their fault, there are laws against that, and talking to strangers about your debt is illegal. I'm sure you work for capital one or some other harassing debt collector Calypso but adding hundreds of dollars of fees to peoples bills doesn't help the company get their money back or the customer pay them the debt.

It just causes bankruptcy, in which they don't get their money period. Serves them right in my opinion.

Technically they do have a law in collections that must be followed. They can legally call you 15 times a day as long as they are 15 minutes apart.

It seems like a lot but that is legally what they are allowed to do...idk about the who 45 times a day nonsense that seems a little extreme. sometime the calls will just be an automated system giving you a callback number sometimes it might actually be a representative. Also if you have ever had any experience in collections you would know they have a system called an auto dialer and it will call someone before you get to see jack. Every company has certain guidelines as far as when an "arrangment" can be set...you tell someone that you are going to make a payment on the 18th...that is not just technically an arrangement they may not be able to set it in their system but there is only so much they are able to do.

I've been in collections for years...unless you have to...you really have no idea what goes on there.

So think twice before you say something about something you really no absolutely nothing about. :eek

Capital One missleads good customers

I have been a long time Capital One Visa customer. I have always paid off my card balance in full. In December I made the big mistake of taking advantage of the opportunity to write a check to myself for $13,500.00 with a promise from Capital One that the interest rate would be 0% for 12 months. When I received the first billing I called Capital One to find out how my payment would be allocated because I wanted to be sure that the few other charges on my account would be paid first and the balance of my payment would go against the $13,500.00 advance. Well I was advised that all of my payment would go against the $13,500 which means the other charges would be accruing interest at 17.90%. I was told by a manager, Trevor, that I should have read the finance agreement I received when I first got my card and that no one at Capital one was responsible to remind me of these conditions when I called to inquire about the offer. Bottom line I was told it was my fault, I didn't do my homework. Well, I should know by now that nothing is free and that credit card companies don't know the meaning of the word ethics. I am paying the balance off in full and throwing away the card. I know Capital One doesn't care but I had to blow off some steam

Capital One in Rancho Santa Margarita, California - Approved for loans 2 months ago, recently denied

I submitted a loan request for an auto loan. I couldn't find what I was looking for within the time frame, so I had to reapply for a loan. I then submitted an application to Capital One and they approved me again with an interest rate 3% higher than the previous loan. I then decided to cancel this loan which was 2 months ago. I recently submitted a loan request and they declined me but submitted me for approval at Roadloans. Which didn't make sense to me because I didn't authorize them to sell my credit. I just received my decline letter which indicated that I have high credit limits on my credit cards and I do not have a mortgage. This is their reason for their declining my application. The stranges thing about it is that I currently have a loan with them and have paid it on time for the last 2 1/2 years. I'm sensing a scam going with this company or financial issues.

I applied for an auto refinance with them and was approved. The numbers (percentage rate, pmt amount etc.) they quoted me were WAY diferent then what showed up on my bill.

I have been trying to get this straightened out for several months now and have been given the run around. I have been left on hold until the phone disconnected, hung up on, and been told a superviser would call within 24 hrs and have never been called back.

I have finally, just today, called and left a message for their corp office... Hoping to get this resolved...

Not that it helps your situation- but on the cap1 application there is fineprint that says by completing the application you authorize them to send your info to others such as roadloans in the event they cant approve you.

it has been my experience to call and speak with a rep. I was denied by their automated computer but once a rep looked at things, I was able to get my blank check.

when i was denied by cap1 at first i was contacted by roadloans and they tried to offer me 19% interest which is insane because i know my credit is not bad- (scores close to 720) but capital1 turned around and gave me a 7% rate.

Capital One in Los Angeles, California - Breaking law - USC Bankruptcy Code

*** Hole 1 tried to repossess my car while I was still in bankruptcy. This is a patent violation of the automatic stay. Plus I did not reaffirm my debt. These guys need a few class action suits to keep them honest. Really dishonest bunch of crooks. They made no effort to contact me or my attorney to communicate their points. Just showed up with a tow truck. Stay away from them or you will be sorry. I may sue them if my car actually gets repossessed. Plus I'll sue their subservicer company (who you can NEVER reach on the phone) and transport agents and all their ilk.

Take revenge against Capital One

We can all take revenge against capital One: all of of us who have been wronged by them. I had money missing from my credit card account, yet capital One refuses to account for it, so I decided to create a website organizing a massive revenge campaign against them. The goal of the website is to cause them to lose huge amounts of money and hopefully as a result go bankrupt. Go to www.capitalone-fraud.com Please also tell me your own ideas on how to take revenge against them, so that I can post them on my website. Thanks
