Capital One is full of Hassles

Capital One claims " No Hassles". That is not true.... they are the worst. I am currently being charged an over the limit fee. I paid the entire balance of the card on Jan 24, the over limit fee was applied 4 days later..the payment was due on the 21st, I was awaiting my tax refund to pay off the card. When I recieved my refund, I went online to pay off card and paid the entire balance including the late fee, however 4 days later an over the limit fee was applied to my account. I have called and can not get them to take that off. Apparently, if you go online to make a payment, even though it says pay card balance, that is not the actual payoff of the card, but it dosen't tell you that or have an option for payoff. I have also had previous trouble with them, I am seriously considering cutting up my card and no longer using it.

I bought something for 20 dollars and they blocked it and claimed it was fraud.

I wanted to use this card on vacation but I don't have the time to *** through their horrible phone system to approve my purchases. I've had a discover card for 11 years they have flawless service.

Capitol one is insane and I love the e-mail that says they have been trying to reach me all day when actually they haven't.

I agree they suck. I'll hold on to the card but I will be using it rarely.

I got a capitalone credit card almost two years ago. Started with a 3grand limit and got raised to 3500 in 3 months.

I have not had one single problem with it or Capital One.

I take the credit card to the max and then pay it right back off.

So i dunno what other peoples issues are. I have 4 credit cards with different companies. Never had a single problem with any of them.

Getting to Speak to Someone at Capital One

I have made 41 phone calls in the past three weeks trying to see why Capital One put a hold on my credit card. Apparently all they do there is sit in a row of cubicles and transfer calls back and forth between eachother. I have spoken to well over 100 pakistanis who REFUSE to help me. I am transferred between "the correct department" and the "correct department" for literally hours. I finally got someone who told me who I needed to speak to, but alas it was after closing time. I hate these evil bastards and I hope something really bad happens to the lazy bunch of....

Yesterday I got notice that they are going to sue me for a credit card debt, of which over $1000.00 is interest. I live in Michigan (enuff said right?) and over the past 5 years my income has been reduced from over $3000.00 to $505.00 monthly. I lost health insurance...

So I mean you guys get these *** cards and use up all the money and then complain when they want it back come on if someone owed you money you would want it too. Just like everyone else I have credit card debt and not enough money to pay it all but one thing about me is I take responsibility for my situation I signed an agreement just like the rest of you saying I would pay it back with interest and past due fees you guys need to get off your high horse and get over it

I say yes to their zero % advertized loan on the phone.I talked to Rep 3 times .After they told me that their is no extra charge for anything if I pay min balance upto 18 months. They knew that I was using the same credit card for monthly expences but never said any word about any finances charges on monthly expending. The credit never exceede >line of credit.I paid every month 5X more than minimum required payment but they ask me to pay finance charge on my monthly spending. What a rip off.NEVER DO BUSSINESS WITH LIARS.

Deceptive Practices at Capital One for fees

I inadvertently exceeded my credit limit on my card and wanted to correct the mistake before I was charged an over the limit fee. I made a payment online and also went a new actual Capital One bank that just opened by my house to make another payment so my account would be in good standing and I would not receive an over the limit fee. They did not post the payments on time, and are not reflected online in my account summary. Two phone calls later, I am still no further along and will have to "call back" after any over the limit fee is posted to my account. Basically, I thought I was just "unlucky" with mean service representatives, but actually now that I have read some of the postings on this website, I realize this is common practice for this company! No wonder the phone representatives were so unhelpful-they are doing exactly their job! I will have to wait to see if they will reverse the fee when it actually "posts" and after I call them again about it. What a waste of time and effort!

You people are idiots. Use some common sense.

If you don't want to go over your limit, pay it in advance!

At the very least, have common sense to know that you keep at least a $100 buffer between your limit to accommodate the reservation charges that come from gas stations, etc. As far as the other comments from other ticked customers, interest accumulates each day until you pay your bill, so there is always a chance that your payoff amount may have some lingering balance.

I paid Capitol One my bill in full and had no balance. So they sent me a bill for $19.41. There was no charges since the bill was paid off. the lady told me that it sounded like double interest but it really wasn't (she said). Now I can do nothing but pay them the $19.41 to keep my good credit rating. I will never never never deal with Capitol one again.

:( went over my line because THEY authorized a charge at a gas station. Rep told me that they only authorize a dollar at the pump and I bought $40 assuming my last payment had been posted.

From then on they charged over the limit fees and raised the interest and minimum to a point that I could not pay it.

Told them if they would stop the excessive fees I would cut up the card and make monthly payments. Well, now I have been served for a court appearance, called their attorney and he said I could resolve it for $900......told him that I only had a credit line of $300, he said the rest is in fees and "too bad, see you in court".

Capital One Auto Loan Identity Theft

I received a bill in the mail from Capital One Auto Loans about a used car I had purchased. It is really ironic that I have no car and I haven't owned one in years. I've filed my police report, written to the credit agencies, written to Capital One, placed fraud alerts, etc. I don't know what else to do. Still they send me debt collection notices and I know it will only escalate from here. I understand about being "innocent until proven guilty" but here the process is all screwed up. I don't understand how Capital One could even give a loan to this other person/thief if they checked my credit report. I work as a temp., which means I'm often unemployed. They should never have approved a loan for someone without a steady income.

Capital One Bank

I've been a client of North Fork Bank for 38 years with few problems, however, just three weeks into Capital One's takeover of North Fork Bank, the bank lost my paycheck! I deposited my paycheck on Monday and then checked on line to find it "pending" Monday night. Since the paycheck was issued by a Capital One account it should not have even been pending, but deposited as cash. I checked the next day to find that my deposit was no longer even recorded! I immediately called the bank and they said they would look into it. When nobody returned my calls by Monday afternoon, I went in with my deposit slip and was told that they checked it out and that it had been sent by courier to the main bank by mistate and that it should be posted later that afternoon. It was not posted that afternoon and it still was not posted Wednesday morning. I called the bank 4 times on Wednesday before I was able to talk to the agent "working on" my problem who said that she had reached the department handling deposits and that they were backed up for days! I asked if we could put a stop payment on the check so that I could be issued a new paycheck by my employer but was told that the check is in the "system" and that they can not do that. When I asked the agent if I could talk to a supervisor or someone higher up at Capital One to straighten this out, she claims that they do not even have a contact themselves to someone in authority! Three days later they still can't tell me when the problem will be cleared up. . . As soon as I get my money back, goodbye Capital One!

Capital One Bank is a huge predator.Beware for your Senior Citizens. Even when you explain that your Senior does not read the small print-- and ask them to stop sending 'blank checks.

They still send them, bounce them, and charge th exorbitant fees. Capital One's CEO Fairbank; Director of Accounts' Jamison; & VicePres.

of Small Business-Moore ignore power of Attorney. They just want to fleece your seniors.

Capital One credit cards are a scam, too. They send the statements late, then charge you late fees and interest -- for two months! I've never seen anything like it.

If you have an initial balance on your account when you make a 0% balance transfer to your Capitol One account, you can never pay off the initial balance until the account is payed off completely. They will charge you interest until the entire account is down to $0.00,...

Capital One Account

Capital One Auto took 14 days to post payments.

I sent my payment to Cap One Auto on 2/15/08 via Western union Quick Collect (immediate tranaction). I look online at my account the next day and it does not show posted. I called and they said they do not have the payment. Gave my MCTN and told them it should be easy to locate. Called the next day because still not posted. I was told my account was in repo and being ready to be picked up. I am only 12 days late by the way. Come to find out after talking to 8 departments and 12 people that my car (which I am driving daily) has been picked up and my account is in the charged off department. Crazy, I know. I am currently trying to get a new car loan so I can get rid of this incompetent company.

Capitol One auto finance is a scam, racket, and lawbreaking group. They hide behind phones, make threats to me and my family and friends and harass 100%.

Never have I been late w/ payments within time alotted. They call between 15-25 x per day. They use ghost phones from every state in the country which contrary to what the "supposed" law says, they MUST identify themselves on both caller ID AND in person. I am REALLY PISSED OFF and now, they will have to watch their backs.

Enough is enough!! The law DOES NO GOOD for the consumer therefore, we take the law into our hands. Stop talking people, politicians and these Terrorist businesses get away with murder, they expect you to sit still.. Well no more!!!

Let's go!!

Capitol One is a fraud and its employees and the higher ups need to go. But first, a taste of their own medicine..

Get the bottle airhorns and BLOW them to deafness....

Capital One has a scam going to use customers money for free. I closed a C D in 2008 With Capital One and they held my money without paying a cent of interest for 10 days because they had lost it.

Now they hold back 28% of my initial investment, for no good reason, and offer no explanation or accounting upon receiving the check.

Their staff is totaly insensitive and uninformed about tthe law. Their attitude is you can just eat it or cry.
