Im currently on hold with capital one. They keep telling my pin is wrong. Every timei call im waiting for 2hrs or more. Then when i speak to someone they say they cannot hear me and hang up. Im going to contact the feds and IRS.. im tired of dealing withthem. Im a truckdriver and had nothing but problems withthem... iwill get rkd og the card....

Capital One in Mississauga, Ontario - Refuse to refund money

Accidently overpaid my credit card, and they refuse to return the money. I even said I would cancel the card and they said that they would hold on to the money until they think that there would be no more charges to the card. The agent as extremely rude, saying that it was my problem and it's up to me to sort it out. This is by far the worst customer service. If I did not pay the bill they would charge 19% interest but they will not give me 19% interest on the money they have for me. Costco should not have made an agreement with this company, they will ruin Costco

Capital One in Fort Wayne, Indiana - Raised my limit without my permission

I use my card for online purchases so I keep my limit low. They raised my limit with out asking me so I called them to have it lowered back down. Well, maybe twice a year I might need to bump up my limit for a major purchase and my request was denied because there was a recent change to the account!!! The change they made without my knowledge! I talked to the supervisor and she said she couldn't do anything about it, that they follow company procedures but then couldn't tel me what the procedures were. I asked to talk to someone that CAN help me and she said she was the highest I can go! I'm sorry, what? Now I can't find another number to call. This is BS. Now a days we (consumers) need to protect ourselves and keeping my limit low is how I do that. I only have ONE credit card... guess I may have to reconsider which company I do business with. I have a clean payment history... that's the problem! they don't like it when someone pays their cards off on time.

NLA called offering settlement on account I never heard of. I Called Called Capitol One and they have no record of the account and they have no record of my SSN. I called NLA back and explained that to them and provided them with my SSN and they said that ssn was not connected with the account. They stated they would turn it over to the fraud department. They stated that if he bank (who has no record of the account) wanted to pursue it I would be served papers. They could not provide any information as to when the account was opened, or what bank payment were drawn from. Both entities seemed to think that some kind of fraud was being committed. The Guy at NLA did state that there is some special department at HOBS or Capitol One that I needed to contact, but he could not provide me with a telephone number. He did not offer any help until I threaten a lawsuit and then it was Mr nice guy, what Can he do to help.....not sure if NLA is the crook or if someone is using them as a dupe....hopefully this is over with and I will hear nothing else

You gave out your ssn.You should never ever do that.Now you need to contact all 3 credit reporting places and have a freeze put on your credit and watch your credit reports all the time.You have to hope no one steals your identity. Maybe you should sign up for lifelock.Something like this can destroy a persons life.

Ten years ago I accepted a capital one card for 5.99% interest FOR LIFE. Now after carrying a high balance they claim they can raise the interest rate to 10% . When asked how , they claimed I accepted the offer of 5.99% but by the time they sent my card the contract said they could change the rates. BS. I know numerous people that have this same rate and they are not raising their interest. Its merely because I have a high balance and they think they can get more money from me. Its their way of raising my rate. Their liars and sneaks. STAY AWAY FROM CAPIAL ONE !

Clearly, you didnt read the terms listed in front of you upon application. I'm pretty sure the company can mail you another copy.

Majority of people fail to read these little conditions of accounts. Then complain when interest rates goes up. Every bank has clauses in your contact with them. Ive bewn through this worth chase and citi.

Once i re-read those terms, it was there, right in front of me. These credit card companies are in this to make money.

It's their right to make changes as they see fit. If you can't handle it, use cash.

CAPITOL ONE A COMPANY NOT TO BANK ON . A few years ago I had a Capitol One CC for my business, I used this account for a decade. My bank sent a check automatically every 30 days to cover the minimum, this allowed me to pay the balance at my leisure and was usually paid in full two to three weeks after the automatic bank payment. So I am traveling and I check into a hotel and my Capitol One card gets rejected. I call Capitol One to find out what the problem was, they told me I was late on a payment. The Balance on my Capitol One account was Fifteen Dollars, they had received a One Hundred Dollar check and another check for over Two Thousand Dollars within three weeks of this phone call. They refused to reactivate the card until I could make the fifteen dollar payment, they actually said that this was due to a new Massachusetts regulation. They had no problem leaving me stranded, fortunately I have an outstanding credit rating and used another line of credit. Now they send me junk mail five times a week telling me they want my business, what a joke. Vote with your feet when you get bad service from a company.

I had the same experience, called to activate and sent to fraud department, was discouraged from going to document verification route because of how long it takes, after fighting with them went to a Bank of America around the corner from me (dont have a physical bank branch) and had them turn me away, advising that this sounded like identity theft and they wouldnt talk to a bank that they didnt have a relationship with (which makes sense). I had told Capital One that the process of going into a random bank seemed unprofessional and sketchy,and put their customer in an embarrassing and awkward position, but they didnt care. They are irresponsible with all of the informaition that they are requesting. Please file a report here and get them on the fed's radar: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/

You bet your ***, you would be complaining IF someone opened an account in your name. ..

and they didn't request documents.

It's amazing how quick someone is to complain when the banks are looking out for your safety and theirs. Too many people want instant gradification.

I recieved some Us postal money orders in the mail for mystery shopping . I was yo deposit in my account, i did and they were counterfit, a scam, i had no idea but Capital one treated me like i was the scammer and i was the victim. They closed my account and wouldnt allow me to open another one. I had no way of knowing this was a scam and they didnt care that i was the victim. Even after showing them all the evidence to prove i was scammed. Disappointed

You deposited money orders that were randomly sent to you in the mail? You seriously didn't ask yourself why a stranger would trust you to do this?

The idea of someone sending me anything to deposit into my account SCREAMS scam.

I've been a secret shopper before. Secret shopping usually involves going to a place of business, making a purchase (with your own money) then you are reimbursed and compensated upon completion of the survey.

Someone used my card fraudulently and I called before the amount even posted because I monitor my cards very closely. Not only was I goven the run around but they are holding my funds for what they convey 30-90 days until the investigation is complete. I was further advised that when the investigation is through, no one is going to be charged with a crime that is a felony in all 50 states. Also capitalone has nothing to update their security guidelines to protect the consumer from these types of attacks. I am going to close my accounts with them because their turely not for the customer and completey unreliable when it comes to the consumer.

Lol good luck. All banks have the same process.

If you are ticked off now, wait until it happens with any other Company. It isn't the banks fault that someone stole your card #. Do you pay at the pump? Skimmers.

Do you hand your card to a waitress? Take your eyes off your card, you dont know who copies the number. By over the internet? Well..

i shouldn't have to explain that one. Maybe you should start using cash only.
