Estate issuea

My in-laws who had a joint and an individual account passed away. In order to get any information about the accounts, we were required to send the death certificates and probate documents along with a letter of instruction to Capital One. Even though the probate documents give the executor legal access to the accounts on the behalf of the deceased, Capital One still refused to give the executor any information about the accounts. We had sent in the letter of direction twice, they still insisted they didn't get it, then they found it and apologized for the over site, then the next day insisted they had not received it and we had to send it the third time. They are clueless that a probate document gives the Executor the same legal rights as the deceased customer. It has been over three weeks since we gave them all the required information and still cannot get any answers.

Terrible customer support

Cap One does not answer the phone for U.S. customers. All calls are automatically routed to a call center in Guatemala where you speak to someone with a thick accent who does not understand your questions. I called their main office phone number hoping to get a U.S. person in their Salt Lake City, Utah branch 877-383-**** but still got the automated links to be routed to Guatemala. I will never again get an account with Capital One.

CAPITAL ONE SUCKS! BEWARE!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have a 360 savings account which I recently opened. I attempted to do a money transfer to my bank account and it told me the transfer would go through on the 6th. What it did not tell me is that the money does not show up on that day, that's the day they start processing it and it can be several days after that before you have access to YOUR money. Now, thanks to Capital one, my bank account is in the negatives and I'm facing charges for that. I will be closing ALL of my Capital One accounts IMMEDIATELY and will never give my money to that thieving, unprofessional company again!

They tell you that they hold the money when you open the account. I have an account with them and read the terms of service.

I think you must work for them. As I read down the list of Anonymous replies I see someone heckling and ridiculing people that are posting complaints. So weird.

Apparently Capital One is against me personalizing my credit card with an AMERICAN FLAG!!!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
So I summited a personal photo of an American flag for my personalized credit card on 08/15/19. On 08/19/19, I received an email from Capital One saying "We’re sorry to say that the image you submitted did not meet our Image Card Acceptance Guidelines." As I scrolled down 12 paragraphs this was in bold "•CAN NOT USE FLAGS OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING NATIONAL, STATE AND ORGANIZATIONAL FLAGS." The biggest problem with this is that my 2 oldest children are in the military fighting for this country. So the way I read it was under any circumstances that Capital One will support the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA....... So I called customer service and got nothing but ignorant *** saying that it is in fact policy that the American flag Cannot be displayed on a Capital one card. I was furious at this point so I demanded to talk to someone who had some kind of authority in the biulding. Finally I got to an overseas supervisor that I couldn't understand said something about capital one being neutral or something like that. So I hung up on him. Like i said, I could not understand him at all. capital one called me back about 1 hour after from a us rep. She said that the photo is under review. She also informed me she works in the personalized card department and that her supervisors probably will not approve my picture. I am sorry for the complaint but like I said I have 2 children in the military. My Grandfather is a veteran well about 90% of my family has or is serving our country.

I’m actually in the army and I’m not this entitled. Calm down and choose another picture!

I don’t think it’s that hard. Mostly because it states in the policy you can’t use a flag....

Guest

A couple of things, first of all, what a great use of an entitled "card" to get what you want even though it's against the policy. Cards include(Age, Disability, Gender, Race and the Trending Vet Card).

Here's what you do, pull the policy and show the "because I have kids in the service and want to live vicariously through them" exemption and you're set. IF there isn't such a policy, cancel the card and move on. Here's the thing, if they give you a special waiver, everyone will want one. Lord knows what kinds of flags will turn up on a card.

Cards that may not be acceptable in your Plastic Patriot world. Oh, and BTW, unless your kids are fighting in WWII, they ARE NOT, repeat ARE NOT fighting in any known war(for us) or conflict in which our freedoms are at stake.

Wow.. Anonymous you are a huge *** Actually a POS it sounds like you can give a *** less about our country and freedom.

Do everyone a favor and go jump in front of a bus.

The day you lose a child overseas over the *** that is going on, you have no right to say that my other two children are not doing anything for this country. F OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Capital one venture card sucks! Charged me interest after paying balance in full!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Capital one sucks! They charged me interest after I paid the balance off in full a few days ago.

Last month they charged me interest which was my fault cause I didn’t pay it off fully but this month I did. I won’t be doing business with them again. I will pay off my card use my miles and cancel the card. The manager would not refund me a $6 interest charge after I put a $800 payment to my card the day before it was due!

Last month they charged me $11 which I could understand in interest for not paying the balance off in full. But this month it is unacceptable when I put my entire paycheck towards capital one! I’ve been a customer since 2017. They have not waived one interest charge for me.

Other credit card companies I have such as chase, discover, citi has.

Do not do your business with capital one! Plus I paid the yearly fee for the capital one venture card and they still would not waive a $6 interest charge.

My Card had been used for 2 Cash Advances and for online purchases while the card was in my possession. Reported it to Capital One and the local Police Department. I got screwed by them also. I got on line went to Money Gram charged my card like i typically do anywhere else, Home Depot, E'bay , Amazon etc only to get slapped wit a $30 +$$$ surcharge fee that SHOWS ON MY BANK STATEMENT AS A CASH ADVANCE ???

WHAT ??? Yes they charged me a cash advance when in fact i charged my C.C. jut like i always do. HOW IS ONE - THE CONSUMER-ME- TO KNOW WHEN YOU'RE CHARGE IS CONSIDERED CASH ADVANCE OR A REGULAR CHARGE?

This is conniving and deceiving business practice, hope that someone is going to look in to it. Yes the bank rep. Tioony told me that when i opened the account i was notified about cash advances rules and charges but when you charge your card on line is no way that you going to know that your charge is going to be applied against you as a cash advance. The Money-Gram /per Capital One rep.

has in a small print a notice that your bank might charge you a cash advance fee, she said is not in bold letter is somewhat inconspicuous. Most likely I'm not the only one that this has happened too, this guys are getting away with highway robbery.

Automated System is poorly designed

Took me two days to activate my replacement card. At first, I spoke to a real person who took endless details from me (address, DOB etc etc) to confirm me then she transferred me to their automated system. When I eventually got there, I had to listen to several minutes of garbage and some in another language before I was able get on with it. I'd recommend they clean up their act and make it less painful!

Gone downhill

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

First issue was Sharebuilder. I opened it with ING, the creator of this nice stock portfolio manager, but then CapOne took over and started d*cking around with it and made it LESS customer friendly and more annoying.

CapOne finally gave it up to ETrade, so I moved to TDA. Secondly was my CapOne credit card. Raised my APR to 25%, so just quit using it. Last straw - they actually DISABLED my savings account I'd had for decades, for "lack of use".

How stupid are you? They don't grasp the point of savings, which is to put money in and leave it alone! Took forever to re-enable it, then I just decided it was time to close it and move on. Anyway, I've now transferred all my money out and closed everything.

Message to CapOne: You need to rid yourselves of the cancerous dumb*sses who have taken over your company. They have no common sense whatsoever...
