Capital One guilty of theft, fraud.

In 2008 Capital One increased my interest from 7.99% to 17.99% without reason. Over 5 years I paid $7500 in principal payments yet my balance only dropped $4000. When I repeatedly asked to have my interest lowered so I could pay off the card I was told they couldn't do it. My accountant figured there is approximately $3000 to $3500 unaccounted for. When I questioned Capital One they wouldn't even discuss it. I therefore informed them that if my interest rates weren't lowered and the unaccounted funds not applied I would cease paying on the card. In February I ceased payment. I was informed by mail again that the rates would not be lowered, no mention was made about the missing funds.

Deleting in exchange for payment is a courtesy. Capital one may have agreed to delete but the collection agency doesn't have to delete. In other words cap one may delete the original account but this does not mean the collection agency will delete theirs.

Payment Review

I just regret ever having to deal with this company. I got behind due to surgery and it is just difficult to catch up but monthly I make a payment and yet they make you feel like you are not even making steps to clear the debt.

Capital One in Richmond, Virginia - Driver dumped trash in front of my house

The UPS driver delivered a package to my home on Fitzhugh Avenue in Richmond today (11-7-14) As usual, he made no effort to get my signature or even alert me that a package had been left; I only knew because I saw him out the window. When he got back in his van, he reached to the dashboard, collected some garbage presumably left over from his lunch, and dumped the trash out his window onto the street. Then he drove off. I was so outraged! What right does he have to litter up my neighborhood?! I would like to see him cited for littering, and reprimanded by his supervisor. I will from now on request that none of my packages are delivered by UPS. We used to have a conscientious delivery person, but this man has been on this route for several years, and he gives "attitude" a bad name.

What are you talking about. This has nothing to do with a capital one credit card.

Capital One in Xenia, Ohio - Lax security

1.0
Details
I have a Capital one credit card. A few months ago they sent me an e-mail stating that I had successfully added another person to my account and changed my mailing address. I tried to log in but all my security questions had been changed. Somehow they allowed someone to call in and change everything on my account and get issued another card. I had to pay to get a new card issued and the old one canceled. Took me over a month to get my account back. Why should I have to pay for their mistake? Somehow this total stranger in another state was able to get my password plus answer my security questions and go into my account and change things. I only access my account on my home computer, never used a public computer so that method is not possible. Also was charged a $20 expedite fee to get a 2 day delivery of a new card. A week later the card arrived and it had already been canceled by Capitol One for some reason. Another week later I got a card and control of my account back. Just today got that account paid off and will never use Capitol One again.

Capital One - Stolen Money

I applied for a secured credit card and was required to pay a $200 deposit, which I did. The next day the money came out of my bank account, but I had not received an email from Capital One stating they had received my payment or that my card was on the way. The next day when the payment had cleared through my bank I called Capital One. They said they had no record of my payment or my account. I wait 5 business days with still no communication from Capital One about my payment or my card and when I call they still have no record of me or my payment. After still not being able to find my account information or proof that I ever paid my deposit (other than my bank statement that says otherwise), I receive a letter in the mail from Capital One. It states that I've been approved for my card, but must make a deposit to activate/receive my card. There is no reference, account or customer number in the letter. So I call customer service again and let them know I received the letter. They still cannot find where I applied or made my deposit. When I mentioned the letter I was told that was a generic letter that everyone who starts an application gets and I would have to apply all over again (and have my credit hit again) and make another deposit before my account could be processed and they would refund the first deposit I made once my account was active (in 2 to 3 weeks).

Capital One - Charged me late fees, finance charges, and a mark on my credit due to lack of communication when its convenient for them.

Had a 20.00 charge on my card which I did not know was there, received no statements, no phone calls, nothing until of course there were late fees and interest charges. A 20.00 charge turned into 112.00 which I paid the moment I found out. They reported this to the credit bureau and will not make any attempt to correct it. I had a 15,000.00 line of credit with them and had been a customer for many years and never had any issues paying my balances on time. They are the most horrible company of have had the miss fortune of dealing with.

As an adult, it is your responsibility to keep track of your purchases. A finance company will automatically send a statement when a balance is owed.

However, they have no control over lost mail from the USPS or customer. Since you are on this forum, we know you have an Internet connection... Capital One has a website. You CAN check statements and make payments.

If you think a large company has time to call every single person who is late on their payment -- you are out of your mind. If you can't remember what you've charged, then credit cards aren't for you.

I did not become a consumer with excellent credit by not being a responsible adult, but thanks for your input. I did not make the purchase, and had not used the card for years. I have moved on to a bank that cares for its customers and understands the importance of servicing and protecting their accounts.
