My story starts with a card we had issued in our nanny's name. She went to buy a gift for my wife while I was at work. This was denied, they then called my wife at work but told her they could not resolve the issue, and she suggested I call the company. I did this from...

As someone who actually does work for Capital One, in the heavy spend dept. I can agree with the person who posted below...

Only if you have a credit card with a limit below 10k. At that point, you are routed to "core" agents. These people handle 50-100 calls a day. They deal with card holders who are legitimately building credit.

But, as with any dept within capital one, I believe its safe to say about 70% of all card holders are incredibly rude. Clearly, most customers have never heard "you get more flies with honey". If you are lucky enough to speak to someone in Tampa, they pretty much have the power to waive all fees.... If you are nice.

We are humans. Have a little respect for the person on the other line. Don't make demands, simply ask for what you want in a polite manner. 9 out of 10 times, (depending on the request..

waive late fees, interest, amf..) we will be more than willing to help you. And please, I beg you for my own sanity.... try to figure out issues for yourself first... enroll online..

you can see statements, current charges/credits, create travel notifications, make payments and set up alerts. DONT call me and request the phone number of the hair salon you visited 2 months ago (yes, that happens).. Do call if you don't recognize a charge AND you have already researched the company and/or called them FIRST. No, I can't just remove a charge from your account because you changed your mind..

I can enter a dispute and perform and investigation... But these things take time. If you have fraud charges, we NEED to change your card number for security reasons. You do have 0 fraud liability but we will call the company with you first just to verify what the charge was for.

Roughly, 65% of the people who believe they have been compromised, realize the charge is legitimate and thank us for our times. We like being addressed by our names and being told Thank you. We respect you by calling you Mr/Ms. We listen to you and genuinely wish to help...

If you aren't screaming at us. We can't and wont help if you don't let us explain what we CAN do for you. I'm sure there are agents who aren't as friendly as you believe they should be. But how would you feel, if your previous customer called and immediately started belittling you.

Many customers use foul language and make outlandish demands. Rarely do we hear a rational person on the phone. I know it's stressing when it comes to dealing with credit and money..... we have the same issues in our personal lives.

If you take a deep breath and put a smile on your face.....

Your problem will mostly likely be solved right away. If not, we will go the extra mile to solve the problem WITH you.

I have had an auto loan with capital one auto finance for almost 6 years and have had far more negative experiences than positive ones. The latest is coming at the end of the note. I've been trying to sell or trade my 05 Yukon for the past 2 months but can't get an...

Your story doesn't even make sense. Last I checked, there isn't an adjustable loan offered on auto finance.

They're all simple interest loans.

If no late payments occurred, payoff amount will only go down as time progress.

Anonymus , your reply here is more than rude how dare you insult members with this comment ?Anonymous Jun 22

You shouldn't have a credit card to begin with. You, sir/madam, sound like a bafoon.

Since you went with capital one, you probably have less than perfect credit.

Go with a real bank or better yet, use cash and we won't have to listen to you ***.

Calling customers baffoon abd saying that if they are with CP they have bad credit haven't you heard about economic crisis and the thousands of people that try to get back a good credit ? You probably work for Capital One as you sound like one of their *** !

Capital One in Mesa, Arizona - Can't Sell My Vehical

I have a deal to sell my vehicle but Capital One takes 5-10 days to clear a payment and 15 days to process the title clearance. So if you want to sell your vehicle you will have to pay it off at least 25 days before you put it on the market or have a very patient buyer. They will tell you there is ways to expedite it such as overnighting a cashiers check so I spent $35 to overnight the check and now they are telling me it is still 5 days processing. I am going to lose my buyer all because they can't get their act together. Go through a local lender so this won't happen to you.

Overnight Pymts take 48 hours. Regular mail takes 5-10 business days, unless you do it with a debit card or checking account.

Then this process takes 12-24 hours. I work for Coaf collections.

Or you can go with Wells Fargo and wait over 2 months...

On a serious note, how was that Capital One Auto Finance's fault? You called about it, they told you their procedure and timeline, so it's up to you to tell your buyer to wait or you're going to have to find a new buyer.

Capital One in Jackson, Mississippi - Applied for card, was turned down WOW

It's rather simple story really. I wanted an extra credit card . Already have a loan with my bank for about $4000 and a master card with $5500 limit. I also mess around a dept store credit card with another $1600 limit and a small $300 card. My credit score is around 680 or so, And my income is over $40.000 a year. But, get this..! I don't make enough money for a capital one card, LOL No kidding guys, That's what they said in a letter they sent me. WOW. I suppose capital one is so hard up that you have to make at least $50.000 a year or they turn you down. Btw they did this AFTER sending me pre approved notices for as much as $1500 for over a year and a never late or missed payment on anything. Anyway, after making a call to capital one. they informed me that i made an error on my application on my income. So, she said she was "SUPPOSED" to have fixed it.. Within 10 days, i was informed that i don't make enough income. WOW Still not fixed, So, I'm out of a few points for falling for their *** game and support never did anything they said they would do.. Oh well, What can i say? WOW. Use caution!!!

Capital One-What's in your wallet...NOTHING!!

Capital one is a frigging joke. If you owe them money you better watch your bank accounts. My daughter and son-in-law owed them money and were doing their best to pay them back....Capital One emptied their bank accounts...and being though my daughter had her name on my grandsons account....they emptied his too. Capital One should be considered the worst credit company in America. My daughter and son-in-law have four kids in their house and Capital One to every last cent out of their accounts...what *** is this. Any one using Capital One should destroy the credit cards.

Did they bank with cap 1? All banks have verbiage in the terms and conditions about their right to set off (take money from checking/savings) if loans or credit cards go into default.

I repeat, it's not just capital one AND this is only done when the customer is in default and did not try to make arrangements. It's literally a last resort action to collect on a past due account.

Well clearly they can't pay their bills on time. Maybe having less children (birth control would be cheaper) would allow them to pay their debts.

In order for a company to "drain" an account, capital one must have sued in court and won. More than likely your family didn't show in court and a default judgement was enter by a judge.

Any one who obtains a judgement is is entitled to collect said debt. Stop complaining and teach them how to manage finances.

Capital One - Rude Service Review from Fort Myer, Virginia

Keep getting a run around when dealing with the fraud department. I have been lied to several times and I'm tired of it. Because of the 911 in our area our address changed and they won't look at the info I sent to clear it up. I had to send a poa and copy of bank statement so they could deal with me because I'm not the primary. Now they say the info I sent is not good enough. I've dealt with rude reps and been hung up on several times. This is one of the worst call centers I've ever dealt with.
