I consistently make full payments on the card balances prior to the due date. 3 - 4 days later, when I check my credit availability, these payments are noted as being received but they are not noted in my available credit. This has happened several times and each...

if you are sending an eft through your bank account it does not transfer the same day - they go through the ACH - automated clearinghouse. first your bank withdraws the money from your account and it takes typically 2 or 3 days MINIMUM to send it to pay your credit card company. Credit card companies do not and cannot hold your money.

Just because your bank debits your account it doesn't mean they transmitted the money.

You can simply pay your bill directly with the credit card company and they can post the payment the same day and then they send it to your bank for payment - that would give you faster posting.

Capital One Credit Card
I contacted customer service (Capital One recently bought out HSBC) and asked what was the purpose of the $39 fee? Erica, the senior customer service agent stated that it was for road side service that I signed up for in 2004 & that it couldn't be waived. I...

An annual membership fee is not for road side service. A lot of capital one cards carry an AMF.

You pay it to use their card. Close the account or switch to another card without a fee.

They actually do exist.

I have two accounts with capital one. Only one has an annual fee because it's a rewards card.

I was recently charged the fee and they waived it. I paid my bill on time but accidentally failed to pay the entire amount by the grace period by a day and they waived the interest in full.

My credit limit has quadrupled on one, they upgraded the other and increased the limit substantially as well. Both cards are barely a year old....So....

Capital One in Thornhill, Ontario - No Hassle Rewards is a huge hassle

I got the capital one aspire card for the rewards. Big Scam. I called and they told me I had $1800 worth of "No Hassle rewards". So, i bought a ticket for a trip for about $3,000 and i called them and asked them to apply the $1,800 towards the trip. And unfortunately, they said that they can only apply the points if it covers 100% of the ticket. So, if the ticket was $1,800 then there is no issue. But if the Ticket is $1801, then my points are worthless and cant be applied. Even with Air Miles they let you pay the difference in cash. I also have an AMEX and they have no issue with partial redemption's. Calling these rewards as "No Hassle Rewards" is extremely misleading when they place restrictions that no other reward companies have.

If you'd read the terms and conditions that was sent with your card... you would have known this.

It's always been their policy.

Like it or not, it's plainly stated. No sense in complaining because you didn't read what you were agreeing to.

Capital One in Dallas, Texas - Bank Did Not Pay Me Agreed Incentive of $200

Capital One Bank ran a scheme to get new checking accounts by offering $200 for opening. I needed to have a direct deposit and maintain my account in good standing. Unfortunately Capital One told me they would not give me the incentive at the end. The banker who opened my account, located at 2525 Wycliff Avenue did not process my paperwork correctly. The branch manager was not interested in dealing with my case and referred me to the client services team. The client services team referred me back to the branch manager and I was stuck in a big loophole and they worked together NOT to pay me my incentive.

You are the victim of an identity thief as well as Capital One is a victim. Someone was trying to use your information and obviously did not have it all correct.

Of course the bank is going to try to find out how the fraud occurred. You should thank them.

Capital One - Shoddy service and Passing of the buck

We had a complaint about being billed for something we didn't use the credit card for. Turns out it was the hotels fault for not charging the right credit card, but Capital One accepted an overlimit anyway. Capital one charged us for the overlimit fee even though we didn't ask to have it billed to our account. Every time we tried to resolve the issue and close the account, Capital one passed us off to agent after agent with no resolution. Harassing phone calls started and we have an immaculate credit rating, or do we now? We paid the bill anyway, but not sure if they will fraudulently claim we owe more (even though we don't). When will they close the account and leave us alone?! What do they want from people after paying back $30,000, the title to their houses? How are we supposed to protect ourselves from our banks using our personal information to commit fraud or inaccuracies that are not our fault? Even if you don't care about your credit and are not going to borrow, you still have to worry about someone getting a judgement against you and garnishing your wages. What can you do?? All I can say is Buyer Beware! Go with a reputable bank even if they cost more. Maybe a co-op?
