Capital One in Lethbridge, Alberta - Increase of limit

For the past 3 years we have ask for are limit to be increased. We have been getting the run around. We pay our bill on time and never pay interest on late payment. We just got a new credit from AAA with a limit of $20,000.00 due to our excellent credit rating. Capital One refused to increase our $5000.00 limited. So after getting the run around we destroyed our cards and will not deal with Capital One again. Capital One needs to get there staff better trained or have there accounting office better informed. Not happy with there service. We would not recommend Capital One due to there poor service.

maybe having 20k on another card uses up all the unsecured credit that mathematically you are entitled to and they can't raise your credit limit. Credit cards are UNSECURED debt and if you can't afford to make payments on the maximum amount of credit limit you have from all sources you may be declined an increase.

Doesn't that make sense?

There is only so much unsecured credit that is reasonable for most people unless you are a billionaire.

If you ran up all those cards you need to have the income to pay it off - they don't look too much at assets but income. Credit card companies are assuming the risk to extend you credit and it is irresponsible to grant someone more credit than they can reasonably pay.

Okay, you can destroy a card but that doesn't mean the account is closed.

Also, if you aren't using the majority of the 5k on a monthly basis (and paying it off in full).

They will think you don't need more credit. Which you probably don't.

You just want it, to have it. Move on.

I made a complaint about Regions Bank and Bank Corps South using FISERV to share your private information with 3rd parties. Since I cannot get any satisfaction at Regions, I have taken to calling the vendors separately. Capital One visa was wonderful! They told me...

If you indeed have all the proof that they're wrong, file a dispute.

How could they "kick back money to your debit card" is a better question...

Capital One in Linden, New Jersey - Bad Bank, Bad practice, harrassing phone calls

I'm always being a good customer dealing with credit card. Always pay on time, this month I miss one payment I believe I missplace the bill and totally forgot about it. Then I realize what happened, I scheduled payment for the next due date paying double payment. Everything has been set up and processed but they keep calling me on my cell on my work phone 2-3 times a day each phone. This is so ridiculous which I only owe them $65. Amex, Citi card never bother me when I miss only one payment. Stay away from this bank!!!!

It never fails to amuse me when companies screw up and treat their customers bad, and when they complain about it, said company hires trolls to try to put their spin on bad behavior.

It never fails to amuse me when customers make late payments and then *** and moan about calls, late fees, etc, all the while saying "I'm a good customer" as if the credit card companies should give them special treatment for USUALLY paying on time. It doesn't matter that you scheduled your NEXT payment, you are still currently in arrears!!

:roll :roll Thanks for the laugh.

Capital One Credit Card

Capital One in Burlington, Massachusetts - Yeah, they totally suck

Been a customer since the 1990's, and never missed payments. I Have a great credit score. First they jacked up my interest rates to 17% "due to market conditions" (translation: their shareholders aren't making enough $$$) Then, just today, they slashed my credit limit by 35%, again, no reason other than their total disregard for their customers. They are completely amazing... I've never been treated so *** in my entire life by any other company. I hate them and will never, ever do business with them ever, and urge anyone looking for credit cards to run as fast as possible away from Capital One.

check your credit reports - obviously something is reporting that causing concern that your credit line is too high. rates/lines are based on your credit history and obviously when your account was reviewed something changed for the negative with your credit.

seriously it is you - your monthly minimum payment is due between your statement date and due date. you made your 50.00 the last day of the previous statement cycle - that was your error and the bank can't just move the payment to a different date.

you can't pay a credit card in advance unless you date the payment within the correct payment cycle which you easily could have done if you were paying attention - you can set future dated payments. Im sure that payment was posted on the date YOU requested.

I don't even work for a bank anymore but I do have a lot of financial experience and sadly most people don't take the time to educate themselves on their own financial life and push the blame on companies that are doing EXACTLY what you requested when you scheduled the payment.

If you paid late, asked for extension on your loan, and I'm sure you're all jumping up and down after you're granted for the extension, and now you're whining because you found out you still owed more and your car is only worth much less than what you thought it should be? And that would make Capital One a rip-off??

Capital One Harrassing Phone Calls

Capital one keeps calling our foundation, at least twice a day. Early morning, late at night, etc. We have a new vonage number but they keep calling for the previous owner. No matter what we say....they don't stop. Unfortunately we are a non-profit Chronic Disease Foundation and have to answer our phone. This has gone on for 3 weeks. Nothing is sacred to this bank... not even a foundation trying to help the chronically ill! What can be done? They say we will go on no call lists....but it keeps happening! We have spoken to manager's etc. Help

Capital One is the worst company for harassing phone calls and rude CSR's. Until May 2012, I was a loyal Capital One customer who ALWAYS made my cc payments on time and normally in larger amounts than required.

Then in May of 2012, I was admitted to the hospital with flesh eating bacteria, which infected my bloodstream and damaged my heart, kidneys and other organs. I was in a coma for 10 days and hospital for 30 days, doctors and nurses told me I was permanently disabled (heart failure, kidney failure, edema, diabetes, irregular heartbeat, vision loss and more) and helped me apply for SS disability. Two days after I was released from the hospital, I wrote a letter to Capital One, explaining why I would not be able to pay my CC bill and later sent copies of my $300,000+ hospital bill and $60,000 doctors bill, and SS disability documents. They chose to ignore it all and for the last 18 months have repeatedly harassed me with threatening phone calls.

Now I find out they have hired a (VERY expensive) attorney to sue me for the $3900 I owe them. The last laugh will be on Capital One though, because even if they win a judgement against me, I have NOTHING to give them, no property, no money and they don't seem to realize that by law they cannot garnish my SS disability check, so all this calling, harassing, and lawsuits do nothing towards recovering that $3900, except for costing them more and more of their own money all the time. Capital One's paid troll will be along shortly with her "It never fails to amuse me" comment. :grin

@Blue Max

A company would have to be totally rotten to treat anyone like that. Senator Elizabeth Warren needs to have a little talk with Capital One's employees. :eek

First, answer every call and ask to be forwarded to a supervisor or higher-up. Get all their information... Name, extension, job title, etc. - Tell them to put your number on a do not call list.

If that continues to fail, look into FDCPA (Fair debt collection laws) and take legal action against them. If you end up having to go to court, and win, let any won money go towards your charity.

That company is the worst of them all for harassing everyone possible, even if you've never even met the people, to getting their money.
