Capital One in Chicago, Illinois - MADE ALL THE PAYMENTS AND I STILL OWE?

I financed a Kia in August 2006 with Capital One Auto Finance. The contract was for 72 payments of $379.99. In September 2006 I lost my job and for a while had no income. It took a couple of months but I started getting an income and made payments to get caught up with my bills. during my late periods which lasted a while, but was in contact with COAF customer service. They would call me almost everyday all times and anytime. My last payment was to be due in Sept 2012 but COAF deferred two payment to the end of the contract making the last payment date Nov 2012, Which I paid on November 8 and paid late fees the following month. Sounds simple. Paid-in-full! That's what we thought, finally we are finished paying for the car, but COAF as of November 2012 is asking for $1488.44. I'm fighting this because its unfair and I don't believe this is a legit request.

Obviously you don't know what a simple interest loan is. And you should if you ever finance a home or car.

I learned this in school.

When you have a simple interest loan and you get behind. You are not just paying interest for the month that your in you are also paying for interest for the months you have not paid.

Also, Cap1 doesn't do defferals, they do extentions.

Reason i know this is because i have a loan with them and when i had to miss a couple payments cause of medical bills they gave me 2 extentions. I asked for a defferal and they explained that they do extentions. They also explain that i would be charged interest for those months put to the end of the loan. And a defferal doesn't charge interest.

I paid for the months put to the end of my loan as soon as possible so i wouldnt have a ton of interest.

That is were you extra on your loan came from.

People should really understand what they are getting when they sign for a home or car.

And people should understand the different risks for changing your loan contract. That is what your extention did.

Capital One in Herndon, Virginia - No protection from fraud!

Capital One is a lousy company that offer no protection against fraudulent online sites. I was billed $19.95 for a service that I never received. Spent almost two months and several mailings trying to get a refund. No luck! Since I have great credit I just paid the bill. I decided not to cancel the card because that would be doing them a favor. Keeping the card account open will cost them money. The ONLY reason I can think to have any credit card from Capital One would be to purchase things from or in a foreign country since they have no transaction fee.

Capital One in Sedalia, Missouri - I called to work out payments in December

I called to do a deferred payment in December and I was told that they would do a deferred payment and add that payment onto the end of the loan but that is not what happened. They are saying I am a full payment behind now and reported it the credit report system and now I am having trouble trying to buy another vehicle. They are saying I did not call at all and I did call twice and talk to two people. They say are recording the calls but the only time they can seem to find the information is when it is going to benefit them. I would not recommend this financial company to anyone. I will make sure everyone that I come into contact with that asks about this company is aware of what happened to me. The people I tried to talk to about this situation were very rude and did not have good customer skills. I think this whole situation is just very wrong. U can refer back to cridenour36@yahoo.com

Capitol One is the worst company on the planet. I have had a card with them for years and went use my card for $14 tonight and it came up declined.

I was mortified and called to see what the deal was. They explained to me that I was 3 days pass due and the put a stop on the card. Who does this? What credit company does this to their customers?

I have been in good standing and had thousands left on credit still available yet they still blocked the card. I called and they just said that this is how we do things. It is safe to say that I will be canceling my Captial One account tomorrow and will take my business elsewhere.

They don't value their paying customers the way that they should and I deserve to be treated better. Thanks for opening my eyes Capital One and good luck screwing ur customers!

Capital One in New York, New York - Worst Customer Service in History

I have both credit cards and normal checking and savings accounts with Capital One. Thank god the customer service for these two are different. Customer service for banking is HORRIBLE. Over the years I have had supposed "fraud" on my account and have been reissued new debit cards. You would think this was a good thing. WRONG. Nothing is more annoying than having to log into all your services that reference your debit card for monthly payments and have to change them. So the latest one that has got my panties in a twist was a letter I received a week ago stating that my card was going to be closed and would I kindly activate the new debit card that had been sent to me. All I kept thinking was 'what debit card?' I called customer service and was basically re-told what was already in the letter, like I was incapable of reading. She then preceded to tell me that this was an automated letter and she could see no information on my account that said they were closing my debit card. Sounded fishy. I asked to speak with a supervisor that when asked swore to me left, right, up, and down that my debit card would not be closed. Fast forward to Monday, lunch time. I go to use my debit card and well wouldn't you know, it doesn't work. So as a prudent individual I log into my account to check my balance. I was certain that I had more than enough money to cover my $12 lunch but wanted to make sure before I called. I had enough, so I call. I speak with some woman who tells me that my card has been locked since friday and that someone from the fraud department should have contacted me. No one did. She checks to make sure they have my correct number. They do. She then proceeds to direct my call to the fraud department. I wait on hold for 10 minutes and finally speak with someone. I give them all my personal information only to find out its a 3rd PARTY COMPANY that has nothing to do with my debit card. So I've basically given a complete stranger personal information about myself. So now I'm annoyed. I'm juggling my cell on one shoulder trying to eat my lunch with a pair of chopsticks with the other hand. I get in touch with a second person. Explain what happened. She directs me to ANOTHER 3rd PARTY SERVICE. I again give them all my personal information only to discover that they have nothing to do with debit cards. I call back a 3rd time. I IMMEDIATELY ask to speak with a supervisor. You want to know what he tells me? That if I got the letter than my debit card was going to be closed and that I must have misunderstood what the woman had told me last week. MISUNDERSTOOD?! I'm not sure how I was unable to comprehend a simple answer from a direct question. ME: So my debit card will not be closed? CS: That's correct. Right...and because I don't have hundreds of thousands in the bank NOTHING is going to happen. They don't care if they loose my business.

Capital One - Don't fall for their Special Transaction Offers!

Their special transaction offers have detrimental terms that they do not disclose!!! I took advantage of several of their 2.99% (for 12 mos) offers over a period of 5-6 months. What they do not disclose is that your payments go to the NEWEST debt first and not the oldest. This causes your oldest balance to age out of the 12 months at 2.99% and jump to their super high Purchases interest rate. I called customer service to complain and their CSR manager Andrea told me "too bad" in so many words. They obviously do not value good, high rated customers! The morale of the story is to not do business with Capital One!

Ok this does not make any since. If you reversed the payment for may june & july at you bank as you stated then you didn't make a payment those month.

The word reverse means to go or take back. You took back your payment. So this whole review just makes you sound like you don't understand the simple act of making payments on your car.

I would hate to see what your gas & electric bill looks like. You problem are mad at them for cutting off your utlities cause you didn't make a payment.
