CAPITAL ONE Bought Out HSBC, which used to be the company that financed BEST BUY's Credit Card. I had an Agreement with HSBC, I had bought over $9000.00 worth of kitchen appliances 3 years ago, I had a ZERO percent interest rate if I paid it off in 36 months or...

Capital One in Chicago, Illinois - Captial One

I called capital one to discuss my hardship that I was going through. I asked them do they have a program to help me. They introduced me to their Reage Program for credit card. I asked the representative how much I need to pay per month. I was told to pay 26.00 dollars for three months that would make my account current and no late fee would be add. Now capital one has lied to me telling me to pay 60.00 for November 23rd. I can't afford that, feel hurt, and disappointed. I can't believe this company would do that to me. My name is Sherry Howell.

At least they worked with you. I got told that nobody would help me, that there was no hardship department, and that I had to pay the amount I couldn't afford or they would sue me. I feel your pain and I understand exactly what you feel.

Update by user Nov 24, 2012

I asked for supervisors until I got to someone with a little sense! They not only refunded the full amount they wrongfully took from my account they waived the $21.80 I actually owed them.

It is a shame it took so much phone time to get results. Don\'t give up!

I am having a similar problem. I have been paying on time electronically taken out every month.

I called them specifically to confirm my balance and that I wanted to make additional payments to lower the duration of the loan. First of all, they quoted me much more than what I owed and Im at at fixed interest rate of 3.99% and now they are telling me I owe more and tell me that the interest rate is based on daily percentage and are subject to change. What? Are they kidding me?

What part of fixed interest rate didn't they get.

This is not over. Now, I have to call them tomorrow, they conveniently called me back when they were about to leave and their office closed so the saga continues.

Harassed by Capital One

I lost my job 4 years ago and haven't been able to find anything since I live in northern MI and there are no jobs here. I'm fortunate enough to live in the home my parents willed to myself and my brothers and sisters. I use firewood I find in the woods near my home. I'm getting food stamps and I woundn't even be able to go the the store if my family didn't send me money for gas. I owe Capital one $1200. and the intrest has added up to $1500. I know people who have owed Thousands in more than one credit card and they file bankrupcy and it's all wiped clean. I can't even afford to file bankrupcy.

Capital One sent condolence letter six years too late

A customer of Capital One for over ten years..after calling to activate my credit card, I was asked if I wanted the "other" card on the account activated. I had to explain the other card belonged to my spouse-who i had to explain was deceased. Days later I randomly received a letter conveying " their sincerest condolences" for the loss of my husband ( who passed away six years ago). The letter was curt and insensitive, not to mention the timing of it was completely unacceptable. It was appalling to open this computer generated letter, signed by no one. This company does not care about its customers and sends automated, heartless condolence letters without regard for the recipient or how this might make them feel. Capital one should either send a sincere note in a timely manner or nothing at all.

Capital One in Baltimore, Maryland - When Full Payment is not Enough

We have a Capital One credit cards for our employees. When we reache our limit we paid the account in full immediately. It took 5 days for Capital One to release our cards. We lost a lot of productiviey and no one at Capital On can explain why payment in full is not sufficient. The bank spent years to get our business and minutes to destroy the relationship. When we tried to find out what was going on we had to go through over an hour of menu prompts, questions, transfers and listen to the same patronizing answers we had already heard. Fewer scripted answers and better training for their employees would go a long way to improving customer service.

Capital one is full of it

I had made my regular $15 monthly payment. I scheduled it, reviewed it, and even checked the laptop to make sure it went through. It did...so sure enough the next business day i had been charged the full amount owed. I didn't have this in my bank account so i was overdrawn. i did a stop payment and now everytime i call they give me 20 different payments (after i paid 25 to unrestrict my card) i owe and apologize out of their ***. i'm done and filing a complaint with the attorney general! they accuse me of making a butt dial payment...how the *** is this possible...did my butt go to capitalone.com with my phone and log in, then select a payment amount? TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR MISTAKES CAPITAL ONE WITHOUT ANY PROOF YOU CAN NOT BLAME YOUR CUSTOMERS. THANK YOU.

I HATE CAPITAL ONE

We have had a Capital One card for years. Recently (last several months), they have been "holding payments for 4 busness days." I have also always used the automated phone payment system which has now become frustrating and cumbersome. These 2 events seem to have coincided. The auto pay system takes you all the way through very smoothly until you get to the account you wish to use, which is incorrect. I give the routing # & account number all over again, it then am asked if I would like this number to be the permanent acct number on file. I answer "yes" & get transferred to a foreign customer service rep & have to give all of the info AGAIN!! The 4 business days extrends beyond that time frame also. I have never, ever had this much trouble making payments on any account. It is certainly motivation to close out the account.

To that lady that has had trouble making her payment I have just one thing to say first I love capital one and second it is not that they hold your payment they have 24 to 48 hours to take the money third if that is all I had to worry about my god that is small compared to trying to find a place to rent that does not cost an arm and a leg or find someone to hold a owner contract or buy a place because your bankruptcy is less than 2 years old by 4 months they dont even give you a pre approval to see what you qualify for to buy so if you think your small problem is big wear my shoes for awhile to see for your self I live in washington state. Thanks for reading this. Carol Davis

@Carol Davis

The payments are treated as ach debits...they receive the money instantly. Quit complaining and pay you bills.

If you have filed for bankruptcy, obviously you don't know how to handle credit. Take ownership of your situation.

I pay my bills in full each month and have a 780 credit score and had my house paid off in six years, all due to good management of income and expenses. The person made a post regarding difficulties making a payment he/she has the cash for and the troubled system and you made it about you're pathetic life
