Capital One in Cleveland, Ohio - Capitol One incompetent at best, crooks at worst.

Update by user Apr 03, 2012

After almost two months, I finally got the title. I won\'t be dealing with them again.

Original review posted by user Mar 03, 2012

We charged off a car on a bankruptcy a few years ago, CapOne didn't want the car, left a lien on it for the balance instead. When we put in a bid to pay off the lien, they said to wait 72 hrs for an answer on its acceptance. Four days later we call, and "the girl" is on vacation, and apparently no one else can OK the bid. Three more days later, we call, "the girl" is not available, but the bid has not been approved or declined yet and we need to wait a few more days (these are all "business days" of course). FINALLY after almost two weeks the bid is approved and the payment is transferred by electronic withdrawal. They said to wait up to thirty days for the title, it's been over thirty days, and we find out that the title has been processed for some time, BUT NOT YET SENT and they don't know why not. Wait three more business days (or maybe thirteen, she seems confused). Still no title. Stay away from these incompetent fools.

@"Your Ignorance is bliss" and @"Tired of complainers"

If you could learn to read, I say above that the lien is PAID.

After two months, I finally got the title. I won't be dealing with them again.

You are paying a debt you neglected to pay. You are not going to get the title. Why should you get something for nothing?

201fc08, it is a scam that is never addressed when they are going over the contract but I think we should see about a classaction and retrieve our money. After I called for the balance and how much by weekly I needed to pay to be done with them for good, they still stuck me with $2796 ,reposed my car in fees, they are a fraud.

Capital One lost a payment made on their website. Now they want my complete bank statement, then that was not enough.

After that 17 different customer service lies, I talked with a Patrick from operations who could not find the payment after the bank faxed them the information. At that point they want the Federal tacking ID to find the payment because it is lost some where in the system. Of course we are about to pay the car off. With the last payment being made today.

However they can't find the payment previous, which we are being charged fees.

Don't trust the information you get over the phone. When you get to the end of the loan I suggest you go into a branch and pay it so that you have proof.

Capital One Auto Finance is Horrible!

I paid off the full balance that was left on my auto loan. Been over a month and I still haven't received the title. I'm trying to trade the car in and Capital One still won't release the lien to show it's been paid off. Excuses have ranged from it takes 48 hours to process the claim to the title has been sent out and you should receive it within 7-10 business days, even though I've requested it twice. Even paying off the loan was a hassle that had to be done in three separate installments. Never again.

I agree.. That's ridiculous.

So you're saying if it was stolen the thief and I have to Share my card...? Lol.

Btw.. They did the same to me.

I asked the customer service rep why it had the same number, and also no activation required.. I got the same an uneducated answer of "you ordered a replacement card not a new one"...

Loss
$2500

Capital One in Indianapolis, Indiana - Lied to me and wrote off my car loan

Capital One Auto Finance - I had some late payments in 2008. In Nov,2011 Dec 2011, & January 2012 pymts were showing I was 120 past due still oweing for October 2011. I called - sent emails i only owed $250 on my loan & a bill collector called In February 2012 said loan was Written Off as bad debt & I had been paying on it Every Month! I called Capitalone & they closed my on line account Feb 1st I said they better take this last payment or I would call the Attorney General I am still going to do - Collector had no idea why- he can prove I had been paying. These were only late fees from years past - it was not the Pricipal and I had to call Captialone with *67 before the number so they would at least answer my call then they would either be rude to me or I would leave messages and I STILL have not been called back. They have my money and STILL I have NO TITLE. Attorney General here I come!

OMG. I had no idea that Capitol One was doing this to so many people.

same situation here. They filed a false 1099 with the IRS, saying I supposedly had a 'cancellation of debt' in the amt of $5277 and I have to pay $900 in back taxes on this 'income'. Haven't heard back from the IRS or the capitol one 1099 dept yet,but I'm sure I will be stuck with it. Like one angry momma said, "they file false info and its ok".

So true! Where is the govt regulation to protect consumers against these people?

What's to stop them from filing false 1099 reports in the millions of dollars? Is there anyone out there that proved to the IRS that capitol one lied? How did you do it?
