Won't accept active debit cards

Called Cap One to make a payment off active debit card. Have used card with Best Buy, Amazon.com, and many others. After dealing with a person whose understanding of the English language was minimal, finally got another individual. Stated my security code wasn't being accepted. Wasn't willing to contact anyone to question that even after I'd stated it was indeed active and had been used that day without any problem. They don't mind charging you a late fee, and, when you attempt to make a payment, they won't accept it. You can't win with these idiots. Am closing account immediately with these incompetent idiots.

Beware of Capital One Credit Card offer

I recently applied and was approved for a Capital One credit card. I received a letter in the mail stating that my card was on the way. Then I received a phone call from someone claiming to represent the company, and they told me that--due to some question of fraudulent activity--I needed to provide the following information to ensure that there was no identity theft involved. This included my SS#, birthdate, phone number on file (which they had just called!), etc. I would also be required to submit a front and back copy of my driver's license, Social Security card, and present a current utility bill that had my name and address listed. Frankly, I was not comfortable giving that information to someone who cold-called me--especially when I had already received written notification of acceptance. I had no idea if this caller was actually a representative from Capital One. And it didn't make sense for them to suddenly decide that they needed to verify this information AFTER issuing a card. They should have made those requirements known on the initial application. Then, to add insult to injury, my EX-husband (from whom I have been divorced since 2008) called to tell me that Capital One had contacted him about my credit application and that they were trying to verify information. WHAT??? NONE of this is any of my ex-husband's BUSINESS!! I am FURIOUS that they released private and personal information to someone that has no business in my business. When I received the card, I immediately shredded it. And they lost a very good customer. My credit score is 820. Don't waste your time with CapitalOne. They are not professional, and they are very careless with YOUR personal information.

Capital One will not protect your card from fraud

Capital One has refused to protect my credit card against fraud. An online company, Tel3, continued to charge my credit card without my authorization, more than $2000, even after I explicitly sent them a written email to demand that they cease. I then called them three times to cancel my account, to no avail, and I tried to cancel my account online, but they blocked my access. This continued from August through October 2015. When I complained to Capital One, I asked them to block charges from this online company, but they refused. As an alternative, they offered by refund each charge. But the charges continued. So I cancelled my credit card number, as the final way to stop the continuing charges. Then the online company refuted my claim to Capital One with totally false statements (others have called them a fraudulent company in online forums). I rebutted all their claims with 19 pages of written documentation, including the email of August 3 to the online company in which I said I would cancel my online account if they continued to charge it without my authorization (and I included their reply). But now Capital One has refused to refund my charges and tells me to "contact the merchant and work directly with them." Capital One will not protect its customers from fraud.

Sorry to say, but that's not fraud, you gave them your card, where does fraud come in??? If they kept billing you, then yes you would need to speak with the merchant to get them to stop.

All my credit cards have $20k limits and my credit score is 805. Yet capital one will not give me a cc limit more than 4K for a account that is about 12 years old and not a single late payment. Giving me the reason that the current credit line is not utilized enough. This is ***ing joke. And you send me letters to make this account my primary? Good luck I spend more than 5k a month why would I max out my card every month me ruin my credit score just to get you to increase my cc limit? This company really is for the the below average credit card holder. This is why capital one will always be and be viewed as subpar to the rest.

No one stops them from bad practice, loust customer services law suits, fake calls, you name it. Get yeself a Secured CapitalOne MC, with a raise after 6 months and no annual fees, and all other phony named fees! I keep sending my forms back in their prepaid envelope and told them who are they trying to fool? 29.9% Interest? They are out of their minds!

i have been with capital one now for serveral years but recently in December we started having problems and was not getting anywhere with the agents and managers fed up decided to close my account i was angry *** off was ready to like explode then this agent came on the line verified my account i told him what my problem was and he handled it like a real Boss he really is an asset to Capital One his name is JOHN FROM THE NEWBRUNSWICK OFFICE he is a star you have no idea what world class customer service is until you speak to JOHN FROM THE NEWBRUNSWICK OFFICE i even wondered to my self that he should be a Manager the way he handled my problem and i had spoken to a Manager that had no qualities or business acumen when he came on the phone . That should be JOHN FROM THE NEWBRUNSWICK OFFICE . oh i already sent this off everyone should know not everyone in Capital one is a pain in the foot there are people like JOHN FROM THE NEWBRUNSWICK OFFICE below is what i sent out hope it gets to the right place.He should be a Manager or a Resolution expert or something he is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD way qualified than most not sure how they hire he has the best interest of the Company he is an Asset. This is a complaint about the World Class Customer Service i got from John he is the best Customer Service rep i spoke to he listened communicated understanding gave a loyalty comment and it only took under 5mins he took ownership of the situation clarified came back with a solution i was mad at capital one 1 minute before i made the call i was ready to tell all my friends family members not to go with capital one i have recommended a few. Repo Service Sucks

My vehicle was repo'd in the middle of the night. The company who Cap 1 hired/authorized to pick up the car obviously broke my steering column and neither of them wants to pay for the repairs.

My car is inoperable because of this and is now located 2 hours away from me. I've paid Cap 1 what I owe them but I can't get my car because Cap 1 wants me to release them from the damage. I'M NOT A *** FOOL! I'm not releasing anyone and will hire an attorney.

Someone is going to pay for the damages for my car and it's not going to be me. Cap 1 is not returning calls!

It's my own *** fault that I let myself get behind and I've caught up my debt but geez, Cap 1 is showing me another side of them. No one asked for a key to my vehicle and often times when a repo takes place the steering column is broken to steer the vehicle.

My credit card got stolen last week. I tried to cancel the card the instant the incident happened, yet I could not cancel the credit card on the app.

I called them up and the process to cancel by phone took forever. After that, it has been a week and the replacement credit card has not arrived. I called them again and apparently it will take an other 6 days for it to arrive.

It is the most ridiculous thing to wait 2 weeks for a replacement card! They are very unreliable and have an unproductive customer service.

you can report a lost or stolen card in the automated phone system and request an card for fed ex to you in 2 days. OR access the website on your phone through your browser not the app. us post office delivery can be unreliable

Cap one credit card fraud

to all who have been victims of credit card fruaud I too was a victim except I did my own investigation and found one person in north Carolina who used the card and as we speak she is being arrested as she was doing it again and again for more than two and half years . her story was that she was in business with people in maylasia and they would send her the cards in her name and she would buy all the hi ticket items that they told her to buy and then sip them to Malaysia and in return she would get $200.00 .

a likely story as I found out that she has about 15 different aliases and 4 diferent face book pages and 20 diferent addresses so she's no innocent victim here she knows exactly what she is doing. anyway here is my point . I received a cap one credit card in the mail and thought that it was a replacement card for the account that I had with them and when I checked it was different so I immediately called cap one ,only to get an Asian speaking person on the phone so I had explained that I did not order this card and surprisingly the agent told me don't worry their are no charges on the account so I should keep the accout and just put a password on the account and it would be fine . so being so busy in my life I said ok .

well that was a mistake as the card had already been used a week before and a charge for $3000.00 was on it with also a $16.00 charge for a rush card delivery. The rush card was for the lady who used the card which I had no idea at the time until I went online and saw these charges on this card and it said the persons name so I immediately call cap one again and had them do a fraud stop on this card and told them to close the account . Once this happened they refused to give me any info about the card so I took matters into my own hands and started doing a socialmedia search of this person and would you believe it I found her and then I went a step further and looked up if she had any criminal history and guess what she did for fraud .

so I called the north Carolina police and made the report and with in a week they had her under arrest. what I am trying to tell everyone is that capital one outsources its customer service dept to the Philippines and maylasia and its probably their own customer service department that is doing this fraud and theres no way to prove it .they look for old dormant accounts of people who don't use their card and they create new account in these peoples name and by the time it is found out it's too late also they can manipulate the info to further hide when their is an inquiry into fraud .and as far as hurting someones credit it doe's even if you are found not liable the hard credit search on your report for that card accually lowers your credit score as I can attest to that so keep very close control on your accounts and report it right away to the card issuer and the police as for a lawsuit good luck with that ,they have so much money you could never win but your can use social media to hurt them and this will work pretty well.

any financial institution including capital one will remove a fraudulent credit card from your credit report INCLUDING the hard inquiry. You also never have to pay the money.

Legally once you file it as fraud you have to request the information in a specific format or have the police request it for you. Obviously you did not ask the right questions. Go to the FTC website - the Federal Trade Commission and read what your legal rights are instead of accusing honest working people in foreign countries of being crooks.

So you must be a wiseguy or a crook from Staten Island huh? We see where you live, lots of crooks in NY.

ATM EATS $1300 in $100 bills

Went into the branch and was trying to make a cash deposit for $3000 into the ATM all in 100's. It spit some money back and then tried to take the rest but acted again like it wanted to spit it out too but couldn't.

The metal door shut said that the cash had been secured.

The bank manager witnessed I was having a problem and got me on the phone with some claims people. A temporary credit was issued only to be taken away a month later when they claim that no extra money was found and the ATM balanced for that day.

Why on earth would you try to deposit 30 $100 bills into an ATM machine? I'm not trusting to be rude; I'm sincerely curious because I've seen ATM machines nearly malfunction when dispensing funds because the slot that holds the bills are so thin.

Plus bills can stick together. It just makes sense to use a teller for a cash deposit that large.

I am Pissed, 11/30/2015 I went to the local branch in Morristown Tn to apply for a small loan I ask for a loan from Gayle Baldwin of $7000.00 at this time she started quoting me payments and say before payments I need to know if my credit was good enough she ask me if I knew my credit score I said yes it was 639 and she said that was good, I ok cause I'd been working on it trying to get it up and didn't want it pulled if I didn't qualify. So after 5 mins she said she couldn't remember how to pull up a loan I was a little Leary after that so after getting all my information she needed vin # so I left to go get it and call her back. Today 12/1/15 I called to make sure she got the number and she said yes but I didn't qualify for a loan that credit was good enough that I need a 660 score I stated that I tod her yesterday what my score was so I didn't have it pulled if I didn't qualify she stated then she was not allowed to ask what a clients credit score was she said I thought you said it was 739 duh thought you weren't supposed to ask then she said how did you know it was 639 and o told her I had it pulled Friday at colonial loan then she said that's the problem it lowered it 37 points I don't think so but her voice keep getting louder and louder on the phone stating this was not her fault that I needed to start paying my bills I have now at this time I was hot told her to have a nice day and I was calling in on her so she hung up. I had the same problem with her at Suntrust that's why I came to Captiol one. With all this it has dropped my credit lower I am trying all I can to get my life back on track and people like this have no clue. I hope you don't fell the same as her.

Pissed! It's bad enough to pay down high balances, I didn't want a capital one card based on the all of the bad reviews. But this was the only card to assist in building your credit rating, advice from the credit bureau. Capitol one is continuing to charge me a monthly fee on a charge where I paid a bill and continuely charge me for a cash advance. They spoke to the merchant and this was explained that a bill was paid. After 9 months of charges I spoke with a senior rep. OXP493 Ashley who denied refunding the 8 months is charged and provided a LAME advice to go back to the merchant and have them refund my card so I can go to city hall and pay the bill. How ignorant of a senior representative provide a solution to a real problem. This is what we have to put up with while getting RIPPED OFF by capital one. Let's hire morans vs intelligent people. Oh yeah that's right they don't exist anymore!!! If you can pay off your Capitol one credit cards and tell everyone you know DO NOT trust what's in your wallet at the end of the day you won't have nothing in your wallet.
