make sure you don't have a bank acct at CapOne or any of the banks, by other names, that they owe. Preferably an acct in a locally owned credit union will be much safer. That has got to be a very ripped off feeling to find your bank acct has been raided by a...bank, but if the creditor owns the bank, they're going to get away with it.

Capital One wont validate my card or return my calls

I needed a credit rating for my wife and I to buy a house so we got a capital one card six months later they send me a chip card and then send my wife mail as well. she had n o id at the time so the post office wouldnt let us have her mail and returned what we thought was a second card. i dont need the *** card till march of this year while im on holidays in Mexico and what should happen but of course my card is denied turns out the mail they had sent my wife was my PIN nuimber when i call they tell me they will get a manager to call back asap and weeks lATER they say they did call i hadnt answered and they canceled my card. i STILL havent gotten my money back no call and just another *** around from a company obviously ran by a R'tard. my advice is if u need a credit rating ROB A BANK then deposit it somewhere else and apply for a real card OR be sure you buy LOTS of lube cause if u use Capital One you ARE going to get screwed.

Forget Capital One Saving account

Thinking of opening the interest plus account please think twice. I opened one and with the way its set up its easy to over fund the account with the first deposit being hidden and just to get my money back out its a 10 day wait and after 30 days once your account is up and running they told me its more like a 5 day wait every time you want to move money in and out of my account. I think 10 days is a bit much to get money that belongs to me back into my real brick and mortar bank account were money is moved instantly.

Capital One Will Not Close My Account

I have applied for a reconsolidation loan, paying off my Capital-One account is part of it. But I must provide "An Account Close Out Statement." I have messaged, chatted, called customer service, begged supervisors...and they promise to fax the doc right away. All I get is the same email over and over saying I must pay the acct.in full to close it. After they tell me they will close it. My reconsolidation loan cannot progress without it. They are like talking to a wall. Their chat is worthless, it seems like they are all rebots without common sense or authority to do anything.

I can't believe this ***. I paid off my card in its entirety back in April, then I called in to close the account, much to the dismay of my customer service representative "Steve." Let's just say, Steve didn't close my account, even though I had obviously paid it off for that purpose. After all, I'm a 31 year-old college student, and I don't need any more debt or bad credit hanging over my head...

THEN, in July, I get a notice that my "statement is ready," stocked full of interest charges and late fees, and even a fraudulent purchase. So, once again, I called back. I solved the fraud paperwork, even got the confirmation in the mail, and I thought it was all over.

THEN tonight, I get another email telling me that my "statement is ready," and I thought to myself, "OH *** JOY!"

HERE WE GO AGAIN FOLKS.

I'm talking class action with my lawyer tomorrow.

For a month now I have been trying to close mine and my wife's account. I continually get disconnected and tranfered to people who can't help.

I am sick of the indian people they connect me with who don't even understand what I am even saying. Worst company ever!!

They did this to me, as I posted in several other listings here, after all the fraud they did to me they refused to close my account even though they claimed someone had access to my account number and made a charge. I was unable to suspend the account, change the account number or close the account until the balance was paid in full, including the fraudulent charges and late fees upon those charges . Add this to the list of things this company does to its customers.

Capital One in Ballwin, Missouri - Capitol One lies

I got behind on my credit card last Sept after losing my job, having hours cut at another job. I contacted capitol one with no help. I ended up getting behind then in Sept 2010 I made an agreement with them over the phone that if I paid them 170.00 a month for 6 months I would be reinstated with my credit card. Not that I wanted to use them but Im trying to rebuild my credit, Capitol One is now denying any agreement ever took place. I didnt know they should of sent me something in writing I just amde the payments like I agreed. I did everything right on my part now they are closing all my accounts that I havent been late on and the one I made agreements on. They lied and theres nothing I can do but let them harm my credit somemore not that I need that. Capitol one will not provdie my with any of the phone conversations we had, they will not provide me with any documents pertaining to the reasons my account was closed. In these times they should welcome people who want to pay their bill and not take the easy way out and file bankruptcy. This is wrong and I woll continue to fight back.

capital one also lied to me. I had an old card with Household Bank, and I had forgotten about it, and I was charged the annual fee before I got around to cancelling the card.

Capital One had just taken over Household Bank, so when I called about cancelling the card, I asked if it were possible to cancel the old card and have the fee credited back, and apply for a new Capital One card. A nice person said sure, don't worry about the old card, and let me put you through to someone to apply for a new card. I did, and was approved. Next month came the bill for the old card plus 2 months worth of late fees.

This time when I called I was told I had to pay the fees and there was nothing they could do.

I will not pay them - they don't care, and it hurts my credit, but it's the principle of the thing. They lied.

Capital One Credit Card fraud

I opened my capital one credit card 2 months ago. I paid my balance 2 weeks ahead of my due date and it said my balance is zero. I thought I could use my credit card by now. With my surprise and embarrassments, my card was rejected. I called the company and they said my payment was on hold even though they clearly withdrew my money from my bank account 2 weeks ago. They said they put "hold" onto the payment for up to first 4 payments for several weeks. They are using my money without interest for that period.

Just add that to the massive list of things this company does to make the money they need to make those expensive commercials. This company is just a front for major Fraud.

I still cannot believe there hasn't been a class action against them. Eventually they will run out of customers and have to be bought out or change their name so they can start all over again.

Consumers are right about Capital One

I pay off my balance every month, but caught Capital One on more than one occasion not process online payments for a few days. Most months it takes 1 day to clear, sometimes it takes them 3-4 days. My issuing bank agrees that payments have cleared, yet Capital One refuses to issue and credit, so they get an extra $100 or so dollars for the next 2 months. I still can't figure out how these creeps manage to charge interest for the second month after the balance is paid. They refer me back to the small print like I am a lawyer. Total unadulterated ripoff. How low can some of these corporations go

Sign up for online banking (if you have not already) so that you can manage your payments easily. Also, you can call them and have them send you a form to sign up for automatic payments.

On the form, you can choose "Deduct minimum payment" upon receipt of the statement.

You can always another payment later if you wish to cover any additional amount you wish to pay. That way, your payments will never be late/

Did the same thing to me. As I have posted in several other listings ,there are a list of scams this company performs on their customers. If the payment is anywhere close to being late its always held over somehow so it never gets processed in time.Add this to the list of fraud this company does to its customers.

You are completely correct. They are one step above a scam.

They are known for practices like that and their high interest. I have one of their cards and am kind of stuck.

I am using it as a credit builder. Trust me, I'll get rid of them as soon as I can.

Capital one Acquired Chevy Chase Bank to gain my business and personal accounts. I have had no issue with Capital One when I visit the branch. However, the on-line bill pay has 3 major issues which have finally pushed me over.

1) You have to go in to each account and pay them seperately. This way the system reflects them as paid. If you fill in each account on their master list, the account will not reflect as paid. This caused some double payments at the beginning.

2) I rely on my I phone App heavily to pay bills. I have not mastered typing on the I phone yet and occasionally mistype my password. When I go to ebert security questions they are never recognized and I need to call customer service.

3) My wife and I share multiple accounts. Capital One refused to give us joint access which we enjoyed with the previous company. When I get locked out I need to get my wife on the phone to reset everything.

AS a married couple, who are both on the accounts with capital one, why is this such a pain? I want Chevy Chase Back.

Capital One in White Oak, Texas - Poor decision on customer

To whom ever: I was trying to make a purchase with my credit card, and it was denied. After calling the 1-800 number and talked with a actual human; I was informed that I was over due on a payment; I could not dispute this, because the store let me use their phone to call your establishment. After returning home; I retrieved all my records to check where my account was overdue. Well after looking into my records and my bank records I WAS NOT OVER DUE ON ANY PAYMENTS. What happened was on May's payment was a mistake made by my wife; she paid $110.00 instead of $121.00 electronically through my bank or credit union.I paid all my bills for the last fifteen years; but I had to go to Texas for training, because I'm going to Iraq for a year and this date our wash machine broke and I knew I was leaving on Monday and I wanted to have my wife set-up with a new wash machine so she would not have the headache of buying and getting it installed at our home.Well to make a long story short; you all denied me a purchase because of $11.00; when I never was late on a payment throughout the years that I had this amazing wonderful card, that while I set watching your *** commercials on TV.I plan to borrow funds and pay this card off in one big sum, then cancel the card. Then I'm going to write, e-mail, facebook, make contact with others and write letters to newspapers, consumer report magazine; and when I'm overseas tell everyone how your so called system sucks of computers can hurt your reputation; and post on web sites how Capital One is a loser. The ex-master card holder from Capital One Loser's

I encourage everyone to look elsewhere if you have to use credit cards. That's why I only use American Express.
