Capital One in Livingston, New Jersey - Do Not Give them your phone number.

I have had my loan with Capital One since April 2007. I never missed a payment, A year ago I lost my job due to the recession. I explained that to the representative and a payment plan was set up with them (Capital One). The rep. advised me that he can't stop the phone calls.. In a one week period they have called me 103 times.. Insane!! There is a recession and people are trying their best. Whatever you do, Please don't given them your number.. they will drive you crazy with their rude representatives. They do not listen to reason..

It is perfectly legal in the United States to collect on a debt that you OWE!

Yes this may suck, but it's Legal! Why don't you look up the law?

I unfortunately have been in the same position. You are allowed technically 10 days after your payment due date, but they will call you ALL DAY long..I was 4 days late on one payment because of how my paycheck fell and they called me 83 times in ONE DAY.

I normally use the harassment line on them and they relax for a bit. Sorry you have to go thru this!

I've had the exact same experience. What a waste of time and money for them to keep calling!

I keep thinking they'll cause someone to commit suicide because it's so infuriating.

Capital One in Bethany, Oklahoma - Harassing creditors; not even customer; will file complaint CEO

Got a new phone number for my work. Apparently, the guy who had that number before owes Capital One Auto Finance money for an Altima. The creditors call ~2-4 times daily and it is completely useless to talk to anyone (they are useless themselves)and very unhelpful, especially if they feel the slightest bit of defiance on your end. After trying different angles and wasting about an hour of my life, I got to a worthless piece of flesh that was obviously not management material, however claimed to be a "account manager" and "no one above" his position and will "stop the calling". Although I talked to an individual so far up the chain of command, the calls continue. If you google "Capital One CEO", you find a link that has a possible address to the CEO of Capital One at their corporate headquarters in VA, the Attorney General of VA and the Commissioner of Financial Institutions of VA. As a potential customer, I will never deal buisness with this company (especially after seeing the complaints) and I will make it a duty in my life to encourage others to do the same.

Capital One in Hercules, California - No customer support for West coast people

Trying to get a lien release faxed to me at 3pm AZ time to complete a car sale. But East coast office to which I am transferred refuses to do so until Monday because the order has to be by 2p East coast time. They were very nasty and continued to explain they were closed tomorrow, so I would have to wait til Monday. Most likely losing a car sale over this as I need the lien release today. What company in this day and age doesn't have 24/7 service nor can't service their west coast customers at THEIR normal business hours.

Capital One is not billing correct interest rate

I received an offer from Capital One for convenience checks with a promotional rate of 5.99% as long as checks posted by 11/15/2010. So I wrote two checks on 11/7. The first posted to Capital One within a few days and I received the promotional rate on it. The second posted to the Capital One card on 11/15. When I received my statement though, I did not get the promotional rate even though the mailing clearly stated in multiple places the offer was good through 11/15. Thankfully I kept all the paperwork. So Capital One is INCORRECTLY charging the wrong interest rate on this transaction, a much higher one of 17.9%. I phoned Capital One and was on the phone for 30 minutes with a representative stationed God-knows-where who could not help. The supervisor he transferred me to was better; she is sending this over to another department to review. Just in case that is not enough to get this corrected, I just wrote their "disputes" department, and am sending copies of all the paperwork I saved, including the initial offer which clearly states "must post by 11/15. Here\'s what I am sending them, minus of course the dollar amount and other information that is personal. And my caveat to you reader, is to save paperwork and check your statements carefully, especially when dealing with Capital One. I am writing to notify you that you have made an error in the interest rate being applied to the transaction dated November 15, 2010. That check qualified for a special transaction rate. Please see the following attachments: Attachment A – copy of letter from you "Dated Notification" . It states "Act by 11/15/2010 and get a 5.99% APR for 12 months. It also says "limited-time"…. "must post to your account by November 15, 2010. Attachment B – copy of second part of letter from you, right above the checks you sent. See the section titled "Use-by-date"; it clearly states "these checks must post to your account by November 15, 2010 for the promotional APR to apply. Attachment C – copy of statement from you showing that the check for $xxx posted on November 15, which means it qualifies for the 5.99% interest rate. Please rectify your error immediately, adjust the interest rate retroactively to the 5.99% rate that should have been charged. Otherwise, I will be taking legal action.

Capital One, they're fishing

It is my belief that Capitol One is fishing for personal information they do not need. I do not now, nor have I ever had any business dealings with Capitol One Financial - for any reason. I am getting several calls a day to my business phone, most after hours when I am closed. The two times I actually talked to somebody, They asked for my ID, they want my SSN, date of birth and mother's maiden name (under the pretense of identifying who I am) even though I am not the person they are asking for. I am on the Do Not Call registry and have been for some time. Today, I filed a formal complaint with the State Attorney General's office, but I'm not holding my breath. Is Capitol One in such bad condition that they need to start fishing for peoples ID's to legitamize their operation and recover losses? This is ID theft as far as I'm concerned, all backed by the various Federal banking commissions.

Capital One in Missoula, Montana - Credit card fraud

Do not get a Capitol One card. I tried a secured card inorder to build credit. They locked my account up over B.S. security questions. After months of this, I told them to send my deposit back. They wanted me to do an ID verification through my bank. This isn't something they do. They finally wanted me to send more money for fees. I told them to take the fees out of the deposit, which they agreed to. Then they told me it could take sixty days to get it back. This was three months ago. I even sent them a copy of my FTC complaint. #4 customer of US postal service???????

Yeah, uh, that's also why Bank of America *** near completely floundered in the recession and Capital One still turned a ONE BILLION DOLLAR PROFIT the first full year of the recession. They don't take lowball settlements and they WILL get their money BACK from you one way or another.

That's how it works. READ YOUR CONTRACTS!!!!!

Capital One erased my bonus points.

I have been a good customer, always paid in full my balance on time for eleven years. I called and asked them to waiver my membership fee, they said they could not do that. I said close my account, no wait, pay off my balance with my 15,000 bonus points and then cancel my account. They said they could not do that cause they had just pushed a button to close my account and it erased my bonus points. They could not give them back to me, they were gone for good. I could reopen my account by just swiping my card at any vendor but the points were gone. I said why would I want to reopen if my points are gone? I talked with two supervisors and they said sorry, your points are gone. I earned those points how can they erase something that belongs to you? I will never bank with them again and I recommend everyone to stay away from them.

I am a current Capitol One customer (not by choice) as my loan was purchased from Chase Bank (awesome bank). This loan was a line of credit on my mortgage.

A few years back I went bankrupt and have been paying the balance back to the Recovery Department. In February 2016, I noticed that my January payment was not cashed. Before I mailed another check, I called and was told that they could not located my loan either until my name, ss# or loan #. I was perplexed by this information and asked what my next step was.

Since it was late in the day and a Friday, the customer service rep that I was speaking to said I had to call back on Monday. Well, I was pissed because I just spent 45 minutes with several departments being bounced around to people who couldn't help me. Thankfully, Emily the rep that I was speaking to gave me her ext and had me call her on Monday and she assured me she would get to the bottom of this situation personally. So, Monday am I called and she did as she promised and got me to the department that could help me.

I was told that the Recovery Department had been dissolved in the previous summer but apparently it is not just a ghost department that you can not without an act of God!!! Ok, I finally make it to the correct department where I am told that my loan was in debt forgiveness and that I should not send future payments. I would be receiving a packet in the mail and that the lien on my home would be removed. That was three weeks ago and no packet has arrived.

So here I am calling the company who can't find my loan and where noone knows anything. Please HELP!!!!!
