my mother opened a custodian account for my son when she was alive. She passed away in 2014 and my son turned 18 in January of 2019. He tried to closet the account in July but we were given such a hard time to close the account. Every time we called we were given and requested different information. They told us they have sent the check. We didn't receive the check but we did receive close account statement . What happened to the check. I had to write a letter to the president of the company. I'm a banker at another financial institution and I know exactly how this should have been handled. It took 3 months to close this account. I will never ever bank with them. They waste so much money in advertising but have very very poor service,

They can restrict an account without any proof and will not allow the customer to provide the proof.
Preferred solution
I want my accounts fixed immediately and allow me to provide proof that there was no such filing and give me an increase in my credit limit.

Redeeming cash rewards is huge pain in the butt. It should be simplerer. As in if i log into my cc account then i should be able to click rewards and choose my redemption offers. Instead ypu.must log into a seperate site which doesnt always work! Huge HASSLE!!!

Someone opened account in my name back in 2004 and Capital One chased me for 10 yrs. In 2008 they took $300.00 then 2012 Capital one took $1,200 out of my account court ordered. And i had to close my bank account .for 2 yrs I had to drive a hr. away to cash my check . Finally in 2014 I got capital one to listen to me they sent me back $ 930.00 of what they took . I FEEL I needed a lawyer for all the harassment for 10 years I have all the letters that they sent me harassing me if there's somebody that can help me please let me know!

I got APPROVED for $1000.00 credit limit go thru waiting over a week get all the email telling me that I was a new capital one customer next said my card is in the mail we get the card which couldn't come at a better time, go online to activate it says my card is locked already I call they tell me I have to answer some questions I do answer the first one correctly its my daughters age ??? I mean really anyhow I couldn't hear very well so I ask her to repeat the question she puts me on hold call gets dropped I call back they tell me I have to send 3 documents n wait 2 more days before I can use the card... And when I cancel this account it better not go one my credit report!!!

Capital One in Walnut Creek, California - Lack of replacement card

I was notified on October 3rd that my Capital one card was comprinized in a fraudulent card hacking scheme. After considerable time on phone and being transfered countless times. I finally was transfered to a (customer fraud superviser specialist) from where else India? I pleaded with him not to deactivate my card because I was out of state on vacation and needed my card for expenseses. He promised me I would receive my new card by October 4th or 5th. Long story short I never received my replacement card, thank God I was not overseas. When I called to cancel my account I never got an apology nor did they say they were sorry. I found customer service at Capital One to be nothing but a nightmare with incompatent people who had no idea of what was going on. It is in my opinion that is best to stay away from this credit card company. They are not looking out for the card holder nor do they seem to care.

An apology? Lets break this down, Capital One stopped fraudulent activity on your account (changed card number to prevent more charges from an unknown source).

They could have let the fraudsters continue to use your credit. You should be thanking them for taking control of this. Now, I've been there.... it takes about a week to receive a replacement card.

Once said card leaves capital one, its on the hands of the usps. We all know mistakes happen there. Capital one took care of you. They can't make a new card appear out of thin air.

Its a process and many people go through it everyday. For you to close your account for something beyond their control, you don't deserve an apology. They should celebrate.

What's next... I used my card online (over the phone, caught by a skimmer, went to home Depot )and was hacked, you OWE me?
