I made a payment on 7/21, my due date, for the minimum amount using their mobile app. I have used the same "savings" account plenty of times in the past, with no problem. I made my payment and thought that everything was fine. A few days later, I went to withdraw funds...

Capital One in Los Angeles, California - CHARGING FEES ACCOUNT NOT ACTIVATED

CAPITOL ONE started charging annual fees even before I recieved credit card in mail which i did NOT activate.I think all consumers should be aware of what the application says even though it is printed so small most adult could not possibly read the fine print. It too 3 represenatives to work on the issue and cancel the cad that was not activated anyway to resolve this issue. The customer service department after getting through the computer base phone system was less than consumer friendly. 30 minutes on the phone to settle an account closeure is ridiculous. Alll consumer beware wth capitol one Whats in your Wallet not capitol one

Techically they are right. You are simply activating the CARD, not the service.

Years ago I got a Discover card in the mail and the sticker on the card said "call to activate".

I thought "naa, I dont want this card after all". I cut it up and never called.....thinking it was never opened. 3 years later when I finally get a free credit report, I see have that 3 year old account open and in good standing.

I thought "gee". I called Discover and over the phone had my account closed.

Capital One in Los Angeles, California - Capitol One inefficient record keeping

Capitol one has been calling my cell phone for the last 6 to 7 months-requesting me to contact them. There has never been a need for Capitol one to call me since I do not have an account with them. I have responded to them at least 6 times. and every time they promissed me that my phone number will be removed from their list. One time they said it would take 48 hours another time they said it would take a week and again I had to wait for a month before the entire system is cleared of my personal phone number - that is what they said!! To no avail I kept on receiving calls. The last call I made today [10-9-06] I was trying to speek to a supervisor. I received the normal excuse that their system was down. I asked where the individual on the phone was located - YES he was in Pakistam - I figured it - bareley could understand a word he said. To say the least I AM PISSED OFF - EXCEEDINGLY PISSED OFF. What kind of an organization are they running?? How hard is it to remove one's phone from their system?? Their promise and their followup is worth a crapp!! Any one found a way to reasonably communicate with these JOKERS and get a reasonably response?? Post it as I will be reading this post! And if one of you are part of Capitol one - get more reliable people working for you - DO YOUR JOB

It's a little thing called information. If you want calls to stop you need to change your number or go to every site and company where you have ever used your number and name and have it removed.

this includes all applications, websites, cbr reporting agency;s, never use it when ordering anything on the phone, take out etc. don't blame the bank blame information technology for reporting it

Capital One is the worst company when it comes to credit cards!

Capital One is the worst possible bank to get a credit card from! They gave you the lowest limits possible! All my other cards are $5000-$15,000... Capital One gave me a $500 card! I took it, to build my credit (I'm only 23 and a student, so my credit history is short.) I used it and paid it off every month. I had it for 2 years, they never offered to raise the limit (like normal companies do!) They charged me a $39 yearly fee, and a monthly fee too, even though I had no balance carried over! Once I canceled a payment that I made online a few hours earlier, because I realized that I have closed the account which the payment was going to come from. A few days later I found out that I was charged a $39 returned check fee. I called them, and a really rude and uneducated associate basically told me to go to *** if I don't like it. I told them that all I want is to get a refund on the $39, since I cancelled that payment. She hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to someone regarding what just happened. They said they have no managers! Wow! Then I asked to be transferred to someone who can help me close this account, because I'm sick of them. They put me on hold for 24 minutes, then hung up! This is more upsetting than anything I've ever experienced! Capital One is a company that should not be around! They have the worst of all - rates, fees, limits and customer service. I will never do business with them again!

Capital One is the WORST company that I have ever done business with. They reduced my credit card limit because I used my card too much but ALWAYS paid on time.

Now it effects my credit rating because they removed thousands that I never asked for in the first place. Their interest rates just keep on rising, too. They are crooks and treat loyal customers like ***.

I just closed my account and plan to spread the word that there are better companies out there. I am so angry at them.

Just cancelled my card - thank God. Funny, how robotic and policy driven their service dept is to the point of defying all logic.

They would rather forgo over 2k in merchant fees on my annual spend than waive a late fee on a payoff the entire balance that was posted 1 day after the due date. So they then hold my 50k in rewards pts hostage if I close and could/would not even update my mailing address to a PO box as I am in a temporary location for business.

My advice is to stay away from these idiots.

No wonder the banks are crumbling. I will celebrate this company's demise.

Why not do w/ Capital One as I am doing w/ Wells Fargo Financial? Check out, "Disgruntled Wells Fargo customers unite!" on this website.

I just found out Wells Fargo posted my second ten-cent check.

They did not, however post the PENNY I sent in the same envelope. Good luck in your endeavor.
