Capital One - Why 4 days to process payment?

I pay my bills through my bank account online. All my loan payments to other companies are processed the next day. Example, PNC bank loan payment, Chrysler car payment, Discover loan and card all post payment the next day. Capital One car payment takes 4 business days to process!! Why? I'm guessing they want you to pay them directly so they can charge you some sort of processing fee.

HORRIBLE!! NEVER GET A CAPITAL ONE CARD!

Tried to make a full balance payment on my card. Used a different account then I normal pay from, and that brought red flags to their fraud department. Okay, I understand, thanks for wanting to verify-- no problem at all. I verify EVERYTHING, SEVERAL TIMES, at least 10 times within this last week and they call my bank several times to verify the money is there however the funds (credit) is still not in my account. They took the money from my bank, but yet everytime I call to find out where the *** my $5,000 went, they tell me the bank hasn't processed it yet and we need to call the bank... so they call the bank everytime and then tell me to wait til tomorrow. EVERYTIME! This is going on 8 days now, and my money is still no where to be found. It doesn't help that their customer service people are outsourced, so they don't quite understand the english that I am speaking between our language barrier. They don't take notes either, there are no notes, everytime i call. i don't get it!!

Capital One Customer Service; Extremely Poor Experience

For anyone out there at Capital One, I couldn't find a direct customer feedback line available, which is why this review is going on the broader internet. You're welcome to review this call, recorded around 9:00AM Central Time on 10/5/17, I believe that the Representative's name was Jean, ID: MS493. I had just opened up a new credit card and wanted to double check and make sure that a payment was scheduled. What I didn't realize is that there is a slight compatibility issue between the payment schedule on the Capital One Mobile App and the Online Website. Because the Mobile app did not show that I had already scheduled a payment, I scheduled it a second time. When I went onto my account I realized to my horror that my payment had double posted to my bank account and I was about to be over-drafted. I called Capital One the same day and spoke to a very sweet person who laughed and said she would make sure to connect me to the right representative. After we both waited on the phone for over 20 minutes, we finally got through to someone. I explained to her about my situation and she told me that unfortunately, because my payment had not been posted, Capital One could neither credit my account or reverse the transaction. when I asked why, she said the would be liable. And when I asked if the payment could be reversed on the capital one side first and then the bank account side be credited after, I didn't understand how they would be liable, and I really didn't want to avoid the overdraft fee. She essentially told me no and that it was my fault for doubling up the payment. I argued that it was a tech error and that I was also confused by this liability issue. I believed that there was more Capital One could do and asked to be connected to another representative. She refused. At one point she stopped speaking to me. I then asked to be connected to a customer feedback link, she refused again because "it wasn't positive feedback". I finally asked what she could do for me. Her answer; "I can transfer you back to the main menu". So I said fine. "I was instantly put back on hold, with background hold music, to WAIT FOR THE AUTOMATED MENU. I hung up, only knowing that in a few days once the duplicated payment is posted and I'm charged an overdraft that I'll have to go through this all over again and beg for a credit. My recommendation, use Discover. Their customer service is amazing...and I regret ever switching.

Capital One steals money

Opened a secured credit card account. More than three months later Capital One froze account and kept money. No fraud, no complaints, no unpaid odd, strange or foreign activities on acct. no problems of any kind. COne has figured out that it can steal money from these accounts. Amount too small to justify a lawyer. I lost $1201.00 not counting fees. COne told the feds it had refunded a $39.00 annual fee. It did not. I have CCards with USBank and Wells Fargo for years and have no problems. Read closely, NO unusual actions on account except the seizure of funds by Capital One. Beware.

Bad company, bad account supervisors!! Never treat their loyal customer right! They chose to lose their customer instead of helping them. I was just helping my father in law to get his late fee waived because turns out his payment goes to the other account and they wouldnt help him with that. He paid all his payments on time every month for two of his accounts yet only one time he asked and even the supervisor Yolanda wouldnt give it to him. It's not about the $25 late fee, it's about how you treat your customer. And it's only been 5 days since he sent the payment that turns out went to the other account. What kind of company are you? Just like to ripping off your customer in any way you could I see. Do yourself a favor why don't you just eliminate your customer service line because it's no use at all. I know this cause I've been on the phone and get hold for 2 hours with no result. My suggestions please steer away from this so called company!!

While my issue is now resolved, it was exceptionally frustrating as a consumer. These guys have no clue about running a consumer company. I had an old dormant acccount that I brought to a zero balance and closed. They never closed the account. A subsequent annual membership fee caused me to be in arrears for several years while I failed to receive correspondence. While I appreciate resolution, the final comminication from Capital One suggested I would be unable to enter into a future relationship with them due to a multi year delinquency! They have so much to learn about customer service, and there are plenty of other companies who want my business. UGH!
