Same issue with me. I too had a GE card and Capital One took it over.

Never had any issues prior to Capital One. But holy ***, since Capital One I have experienced one payment nightmare after another.

They must have complete *** in both their CS department and AR department. I have since paid the card off, closed the account and vowed never to have anything to do with Capital One again.

Capital One in Englewood, Colorado - How Do You Close Your Account With Capitol One?

I answered on of their "Guaranteed Acceptance" letters sent to me in the mail. At first, their "pitch" actually sounded great, and they seemed extremely interested in helping me re-build my Credit. I filled all the information out, and answered questions one would usually not need to answer, but; these people were offering me a well named Credit Card. Ask to speak with someone in America! that is how I had to do it.

The people when you call the costumer service wont do it. When you call just say that you want to speak with someone in America and they will transfer you and cancel your card no problem!

Capital One has the worst customer service ever!

I filled a dispute over a month ago. It was credited back to my account. Then last week I recieved a letter saying it was being recharged so I called back to let them know I got the letter and asked why I was being charge for something I didn't authorize. They said I was supposed to send back a dispute form which I never got. The man I talked to on the 23rd of November told me I would have the letter resent and it would be "in my mailbox within 4 business days". I was recharged the unauthoized vendor charge since that point and am now over my credit limit because of this. I called back today and was told that it will take another 10 business days to get the letter. I asked to talk to a supervisor and the supervisor was told by a female agent who transfered me that she had already redisputed the charge. The supervisor stayed on the line with me while I was transfered back to the disputes department again and I was told with her on the line that the female dispute agent lied to the supervisor about fixing in for me and it's still a pending dispute. I am so frustrated with the situation I am about ready to just close the account and tell everyone I know to stop banking with your company too! The disputes people are totally rude and don't give out accuate infromation even to the reps in their company. I am feed up with being blown off and told to "just be paient" or "argueing will not change anything mama". These people are supposed to be helping the customers not like idots and lying to them. My credit is being negatively effected by this because my card is now over limit thanks to this. Come tax season I am paying off this card and Capital One will no longer be "what's in my wallet". This company has the worst customer service I have ever experianced in my life! Never get a card with them they are horrible!

Capital One in Denver, Colorado - Called skip tracing for collections and kept calling

Capital One's offshore collections Called to collect for a person who does not live here. (Skip tracing) Said they had a business relationship with my wife. My wife called and told them she had no account they told her they would take the name off the list They 2 hrs later they called back. Same request. I confronted them and asked them if they were skip tracing. Hung Up. I called back endless hold to talk to supervisor, employee's repeatedly hung up hung up. no supervisor. Called Capital one gave my complaint and was told there policy said they would keep my number in their system. Capital one don't be ***. Buy American. If you go with Capital One you go with a beuracratic unamerican waste of your time.

Capital One "To Negotiate or Hire Atty"

I sent Cap One VOD they requested more info. I resent VOD back with their letter. I received letter dated 7-3-08 stating I had until 7-3-08 to pay 5,499.34 in full. They go onto say they do not have a valid signed agreement with me because this account was set up on line or over the phone??? They sent a copy of a statment dated Nov and Dec of 2004 and a copy of a customer Agreement. What do I do next???? I had ID theft and filed BK in 2001. This is part of that but I can not get Cap One to comply. This is the only bad mark left on my credit report. It shows charge off! Thanks
