I haven't used a credit card for more than 10 years. Due to lack of credit history, I was advised to get a credit card with a low balance and pay it off every month to build my credit score.

I started with a 640 score and took out a Capital One card. I used the card and paid the balance off every month in full early. Never missed a payment and some months even made two payments if I used the card more than normal. I was just informed my credit score dropped to 520 because I used up to my limit several times on my card.

I had a $500 monthly limit!!! This is the biggest scam I have ever seen. Don't buy into the credit card helping your credit idea. It's a lie.

Just like credit scores in general. Cash is King!!
