Capital One in Silver Spring, Maryland - TOTAL DISREPECT FOR THIS CUSTOMER

This bank is HORRIBLE! The Branch Manager and his cronies are the worst customer service representatives I've ever seen. They say they are going to help - and they don't help. They say they are going to call - and they never call. And the FEES they bang you with at every instance that they can is nothing short of usury and is borderline criminal. Once I was hit with sixteen $35 fees in three days. Another time it was eight $35 fees in two days. And this was when there was more than enough money in my account. There were actually several $35 fees on charges of $9 and less. And they did NOTHING about it. Do NOT do business with this bank.

That's an old trick that Capital One uses to try to trick customers into paying late fees. They hire people to sit in offices and think up these tricks to use on their customers, which is why we need Elizabeth Warren in Congress to read them the riot act!

They also hire trolls to come on complaint sites like this and try to put a positive spin on their company's rotten actions. 8)

They send our statement with only 3 days until past due, forcing us to pay by phone. When processing the info they transposed some numbers and never processed the request.

They apply a late charge, and I never knew that this was happening until the next statement. After the second time this happened, I had my bank on the conference call to Capital One, where then and only then after it was very clear the error was on their side, did they remove the late charges. I have since closed my account with them. Why do they send statements with only 3 days to past due?

To push you to use on-line or pay by phone is what I think. I have stopped payments on-line due to the insecure nature of the way they handle our information. I have credit score over 800. I take my credit and bill paying seriously.

This company has borderline predatory practices.

Not friendly to do business with. I highly recommend a different banking card!

@screwed also

You know y6ou owe the bill. Not getting the bill is not an excuse.

You can look the bill up online and pay anytime you choose. You choose to wait for a bill and be late.

Why should they do anything about it? It is not their responsibility to maintain your account...it is YOURS.

THEY did not overdraft your account, YOU did.

Pay up or close your account. You obviously are not adult enough to have it.

Capital One in Easton, Maryland - Refused to return overdraft fees

Capital One refused to return overdraft fees that I "should not" have accrued.I put $140.00 in my account on and figured I could use half of it until the other half cleared .A couple days later we were negative and we knew we did not spend enough to be in the red.We reviewed our account and saw at least 4 overdraft charges. When we contacted the bank we were told that due to a disclaimer at the tellers about new rules and regulations I was unable to have my money refunded even though we spent with the knowledge that we were able to use at least half of our money.

I received a credit card in the mail from Capital one on April 3, 2011. I called to get a pin number and they gave me one over the phone. I put it in my wallet like a fool. I went out and lost my wallet. I had over 300 in cash advances taken off my card that night....

You are absolutely correct. They have nasty, rude, unprofessional, undereducated, low intelligence employees in fraud division.

They bully you to satisfy their ego. Capital one credit card is the worst in the entire world. They confiscated our credit on the credit card despite fully paid with zero balance. If they beg that they need the money we would give it as charity.

Under false pretense and harassment they have locked the credit card. Abhorrent and disgusting people.

I bought something that turned out to be a fake, after disputing the charge, fighting through their elaborate defense against customers, I got a refund until the fraudster complained and I got rebilled without notice. This company is horrendous at any form of service.

I must say you should try dealing with capital one auto. I called the customer service number to inquire on making extra payments to make off car sooner, little did I know I was calling India, I understood almost nothing they were saying to me, if you want a manager, they are just as difficult and are very rude. I am looking to refi, just so I don't have to deal with them.

Any bank is going to do an investigation before they just give you "your" money back. Plus, it is not their fault you went into overdraft and only have $600.00, why don't you switch to Bank of America and see how it goes and how they *** over.

I'm getting rid of BofA and going with Capital One because BofA sucks and Capital One is a whole lot better.

I love ppl that switch banks because of just one simple problem.

Had that been me, I would have switch from BofA, years ago!!!

Capital one charged me two late fees on $2.08 interest after I paid off entire balance!

I paid off entire balance on my Capital One credit card in May. Yesterday (7/14/2010), I got a letter from them, said I had $32.08 due. After checking my online record, I noticed that there was $2.08 interest charged to my account after I paid it off, and two past due fee ($15 each) charges on it. Since I only received the letter from them two month after, I called Capital One service trying to get the past due fee removed. Instead, I got a very rule customer service - the rep wouldn't even let me finish my sentence and refuse let me talk to anyone else! Of cause, I didn't get anywhere, and ended up paying the fine and closed my account! It was such horrible experience! I'll never use their serve again in my life!

Beware if you owe money to Capitol One, and they call you to set up a payment. While there's nothing wrong or illegal about this, be careful. While your caller ID may read that the call is coming from the United States or Canada, when you answer the phone it will...

This is a repost that I am posting on every Cap one post in hopes that no one will give this company the time of day.

Had our account for 11 years.

NEVER a late payment and always a good customer. We got a "change of terms" in the mail stating that our interest rate was going from 10.5% to 17.99%!!! I called and asked them why and after waiting 20 minutes on hold I got to speak to a person I could not understand and only told me that it was stated on my change of terms mail why. No it wasn't I said.

They finally told me that it was because of my account activity. I asked what exactly they meant because I have an excellent record with them. She told me she couldn't say why. I closed my account.

No more credit cards for us. If anyone is thinking of getting a new credit card right now, please think it through and don't forget to read any fine print.

I know this will probably get deleted, but here's an idea... PAY YOUR BILLS.

I have no doubt that you weren't behind forever, but if you fall into a hardship, don't use borrowed money to pay your bills. If you can't pay for it, you don't put it on a credit card that you can't pay either...

your asking for trouble. Moral of the story: Spend what you can afford, and don't use your credit card as a crutch

Capital One Never Really Closes Your Account

Beware. I closed my account after many problems with Capital One on November 07. An error in paying my phone bill online triggered a debit payment resulting in this charge being applied to my now closed CapOne card. I had destroyed my card and never entered account number to pay my phone bill. How did CapOne get charged? If a credit card company closes your account it should be deleted from their data base. Cap One is not closing an account it just remains "inactive". I can't get rid of these people. There should be a law regulating this.
