Capital One in Orrville, Ohio - WORST CREDIT CARD COMPANY EVER

I tried to make a payment on September 2nd and 3rd and because of the storms that were going on I could not get through. It kept saying due to high call volume hold for the next available Operator. I tried both days and did not get through. My billing cycle was the 3rd of the month. So when I got through on the 4th they told me it was too late because my accounts were already on their way to charge off. I was told before to talk to an operator to make my payment instead of making it online. So that's what I tried to do. But they wont let me dispute the charge off because they said I should have made the payment online (when I was told not to by another operator a week before). I cant believe they did this and are blaming me and if there was not high call volume I would have made my payment on time with an agent like they told me to. Every time when I did get though they transferred me from department to department and then back to the original department that I called in the beginning. This is crazy. I will never deal with them again. They have messed up my credit with these charge offs. So they will get their money when I decide to get it to them. I have nothing to lose because they ruined my credit more anyway!!!!!!!!!

Capital One in Columbus, Ohio - Won't help people who need a little bit of help.

I always made sure my payments were on time, then i had a child and my hours were cut at work. I called capitol one and asked them if they would be willing to close my account so that I wouldn't get charged over limit fees and late fees, and the only reason I was over my limit was because of the late fee, or intrest fee, well I tryed to close the account, and they told me that I couldn't close it! It would have to be past due for over 6 months before they could cancle it. Its a load of ***. so After 6 months on a 500 dollar limit, I now owe 1600 bucks. I will never own another credit card agian. It would have been diffrent If I just didn't care about my bill being late and let it go. But people who actually want just a little bit of help don't get it. It was my account, I should have been able to cancle it anytime that I wanted. If they can cancle it at anytime why shouldn't I be able to?

you: If the account is expired why do you keep charging membership fee's I must not be a member if my account is expired.

you: I know my golf resort doesn't change me membership if my account is expired...

you: because I don't get the service of the card, to be charged a membership fee.

Lee: I understand what you mean but let me also tell you that this fee is due even if you do not use your card.

you: It's not about using the card, it's about the ability to use the service...

you: I do not have the ability to use the card, it was refused when I went to get gas today...

you: you said the account was expired.

you: Lee: But I see that your account now is expired. You can certainly request a replacement card by calling our toll free customer service number.

Lee: Yes, that's right. You account is expired but not closed.

Lee: Unless your account is closed the membership fee will still be charge.

you: so the membership fee is charged even if I don't have the right to use the card???

you: good to see that membership has it's privilages...

Lee: The membership fee will be charge although you do not use your card.

you: Then can I turn my card into a VentureOne card... at $59 a year I at least get milage for using it...

Lee: I'm sorry we do not have an upgrade offer on the account at this time.

you: You can't do anything with the account - like me - because its expired but not closed so you can continue to change me a fee for a card I can't use...

Capital One in Cleveland, Ohio - How can a credit card company report a card that didn't exist!?

So I am trying to purchase my first home and my credit report was pulled. Capital One came up on my credit and I have never had an account with them. When I called they looked up my ssn and names and phone numbers and they couldn't find anything! When I asked how this was possible they said when they report to the credit bureau they just report your first initial and last name so whoever has a similar name or ssn could be the one who gets assigned the credi. WHAT? I am so confused, have any thoughts?

Capital One Credit - Deducting money from me without authorization

I have an account with Capital One Credit Card. That I told them to close out 7 months ago. Well, they didn't. And some sort of charge accrued on the account, which I was unaware of. They have made no attempt to contact me via mail or telephone. Now they have been deducting money from my checking account without authorization from myself. In LARGE amouts of $200+ at random times. How do they do it?! I have no clue at all!!! Because I know they don't have a court order to take my money. They showed it in my checking account as an authorized payment by phone. Hmmm. Fishy???

Capital One Bank completely insane...

Had $15,000.00 in a Capital One internet savings account. Forgot the answer to one of the annoying security questions that pops up in order to access my account. Question was what street I lived on in 3rd grade. I'm getting rather old and we moved around a lot... No alternate question was offered. A screen appeared that my account was disabled and there was a number to call. I called the number that appeared on the screen. Gave them my name, account number, birthday, SS#, called from my home phone, etc... Then they said I would have to answer questions based on public record in order to access my account. They wanted personal information about my brother's ex-wife (divorced 5 years ago)!!! They wanted to know where she lived. I said "How the *** would I know and why would I tell you if I did???!!!"... "Sorry sir, if you're going to talk to me like that I can't help you." It was about the only thing she said that I heard clearly. Everything else sounded like she had marbles in her mouth and I had to ask her to repeat many things, some of which I still couldn't decode. I think you know what I said next, starts with an F and ends with a you... Later, I remembered the answer to the security question. Account wasn't disabled as they claimed. Transferred all the money out of Capital One. This is how they intend to survive the banking crisis??? Not on my money...

IF YOUR TIME IS IMPORTANT TO YOU, NEVER USE CAPITAL ONE CREDIT CARD. They are the worst in the industry!

For the 4th or 5th time in a few months, they have put a hold on my credit card for no reason. It is so embarrasing! I am waiting in line to pay the cashier at a supermarket and the card gets declined. I know that there is plenty of money on the card, so I called the customer service number.

Guess what? I am transferred to India, where I could barely understand the customer rep's thick Indian accent. I had to repeat my card number several times, then she argues that the number I gave is not a legitimate number. I said, "What?!" I am reading the card that you, guys issued me and I have been using this same card for years.

Then, she puts me on hold for several minutes. Upon her return, I remind her that I am still holding up the line at the supermarket and people are starting to glare at me like it's my fault that my credit card is having problems. The service rep asks me to repeat the credit card number 2 more times, puts me on hold for 3 more minutes and then says that there is no hold on the card and for the cashier to try to run it again. For the 4th time, the store cashier runs the card and again, the computer screen says that the card is declined.

I tell the service rep this, and she still insists that it is not on their end, but on the store's end. The cashier runs the card 2 more times. Same thing. I ask the service rep to be transferred to a supervisor and she says in "an-i-don't-give-a-***" voice, "I can't transfer you until I exhaust all the troubleshooting possibilities.

What are the last 3 digits on the back of your card?" I give her the number and she says, "That is an invalid code". Again, I shriek, '"What?! I am simply reading the back of my card and I have used this code and this card for years? What is going on?" She says (amused), "Hold the line..." Again, I was on hold for several minutes, then she comes back on the line and said, "I don't see any problem on the card.

Run the card again... Maybe this time it will work." I ask the cashier (who at this time, is now glaring at ME), to run the card one last time. Guess what?

Card is still declined and the phone goes dead! Unbelievable!

I agree, Capital One Bank worse bank I have ever dealt with--they play more assine games with passwords that can drive you crazy. And you are talking to robots when you talk to their reps.

Veribanc Ratings is currently (July 08) giving them a "yellow 1 star" rating.

Not Good. Make sure you're FDIC covered.
