Sounds like you had a lot of bounced payments and don't trust you to pay them enough to keep giving you credit.

Capital One is as fraudulent as La Quinta Inns

1.0
Details
DO NOT ever stay at nor make a reservation at La Quinta Inns. They are in bed with Capital One credit cards. I fraudulently was charged $80.35 for a room after I honestly CANCELLED the rooms. I asked the non-English speaking woman at the LaQuinta Inn in Boerne, TX to cancel my two rooms for two nights and she said she did and I told her to send me a cancellation confirmation number which she NEVER did. I pulled up my La Quinta account the next day and it showed "cancelled" in red for both rooms so I did not worry. Next thing I see is Capital One charging me for two rooms for two nights. I went ballistic and they took the charges off. Two months later they put a charge for one room on my bill. I sent them the screen grab for the cancellation but they said that was not enough. I just looked at my account for La Quinta Inns and lo and behold ALL of my activity for 2015 has been erased. This is FRAUD at its finest and Capital One is knee deep involved in it.

Capital One in Hawkins, Texas - Collections on non existant account

NLA called offering settlement on account I never heard of. I Called Called Capitol One and they have no record of the account and they have no record of my SSN. I called NLA back and explained that to them and provided them with my SSN and they said that ssn was not connected with the account. They stated they would turn it over to the fraud department. They stated that if he bank (who has no record of the account) wanted to pursue it I would be served papers. They could not provide any information as to when the account was opened, or what bank payment were drawn from. Both entities seemed to think that some kind of fraud was being committed. The Guy at NLA did state that there is some special department at HOBS or Capitol One that I needed to contact, but he could not provide me with a telephone number. He did not offer any help until I threaten a lawsuit and then it was Mr nice guy, what Can he do to help.....not sure if NLA is the crook or if someone is using them as a dupe....hopefully this is over with and I will hear nothing else

You gave out your ssn.You should never ever do that. Now you need to contact all 3 credit reporting places and have a freeze put on your credit and watch your credit reports all the time. You have to hope no one steals your identity. Maybe you should sign up for lifelock.Something like this can destroy a persons life.

Problems with payment

Capital One in San Angelo, Texas - Error in their way of billing caused me to hjave a late paymentwhen bill was not recxeived

1.0
Details
I opened 2 accounts with Capitol One on same date. They thought it was all going to be done via email, I thought I would get a regular bill in mail. This resulted in being late on both first payments. When I received a notice about payment being late I promptly paid both accounts in full. They at that time said they would make sure it was not on credit report. In Jan I noticed on credit report one was removed and one not removed as to late payment. I called them and got the name and number of rep that was very nice and assured me they would see that it was corrected with credit bureaus it might take 90 for credit bureau to make corrections. I noticed today in March it was still there I called again got a very rude hateful rep nothing like that was ever to be done. I shall pay both in full today as I do every time I get bill and never charge another penny on them.

Well clearly... you are dumb yourself.

Who actually advertises their email address on a complaint board?

And, just what the *** are you talking about? A credit limit increase is never for just $20 bucks... And it's not a simple process.

A number of things are taken into consideration, such as credit history. If yours is new or not-so-great.... which is my guess since you are complaining about a "secured card." You are likely to be declined unless you pay a larger deposit to the secure card.

If a check in your name was fraudulently cashed, did you file a police report?

Did you get a copy of the signed check from the bank?

Capital One did what they were supposed to do, they issued a refund check to you for $99. You can blame them for someone stealing it.

If you don't understand the rules of credit, cut your cards up NOW... Before you Ruin your credit (or make it worse).

your complaint doesn't make a whole lot of sense you might want to work on your grammar and make it coherent. also why on earth are you complaining and demanding a refund on here when it's a complaints board NOT a capital one monitored board?

the likelihood of them seeing/giving a *** that you posted on here is zero to none.

now onto your complaint as i'm TRYING to understand it. you say you closed your account because you asked for a $20 increase? that makes no sense. why would you close the account because you asked for $20 increase?

then you say they took 2 months to issue I check.

what the *** is an I check ? which you then claim was stolen & cashed at another bank? if that's the case then the banks need to be made aware of having a stolen check cashed so they can get the information needed to police. you obviously didn't make "unlimited" attempts because unlimited means basically never ending..

your last threat is funny that you won't stop until "slowing declining company fall flat on ground zero because me and others"

first off I think you meant "slowly declining company falls flat on the ground because myself & others"

but good job putting your email in the oomplaint.

be ready for the spam fest you'll receive when people sign you up for all kinds of BS offers online.

I know because it happened to me. lastly thanks for making me laugh it made my night

If you decide that you don't want to receive prescreened offers of credit and insurance, you have two choices: You can opt out of receiving them for five years or opt out of receiving them permanently.

To opt out for five years: Call toll-free 1-888-5-OPT-OUT (1-888-567-8688) or visit www.optoutprescreen.com.

The phone number and website are operated by the major consumer reporting companies.

To opt out permanently: You may begin the permanent Opt-Out process online at www.optoutprescreen.com. To complete your request, you must return the signed Permanent Opt-Out Election form, which will be provided after you initiate your online request.

When you call or visit the website, you'll be asked to provide certain personal information, including your home telephone number, name, Social Security number, and date of birth. The information you provide is confidential and will be used only to process your request to opt out.

If you don't have access to the Internet, you may send a written request to permanently opt out to each of the major consumer reporting companies.

Make sure your request includes your home telephone number, name, Social Security number, and date of birth.

Experian Opt Out P.O. Box 919 Allen, TX 75013 TransUnion Name Removal Option P.O. Box 505 Woodlyn, PA 19094 Equifax, Inc.

Options P.O. Box 740123 Atlanta, GA 30374-0123 Innovis Consumer Assistance P.O. Box 495 Pittsburgh, PA 15230-0495 Why would someone opt out — or not? Some people prefer not to receive these kinds of offers in the mail, especially if they are not in the market for a new credit card or insurance policy.

They may prefer to opt out to limit access to their credit report information for credit and insurance solicitations, or to reduce some mailbox "clutter." However, some companies send offers that are not based on prescreening, and your federal opt-out right will not stop those kinds of solicitations. As you consider opting out, you should know that prescreened offers can provide many benefits, especially if you are in the market for a credit card or insurance. Prescreened offers can help you learn about what's available, compare costs, and find the best product for your needs. Because you are pre-selected to receive the offer, you can be turned down only under limited circumstances.

The terms of prescreened offers also may be more favorable than those that are available to the general public. In fact, some credit card or insurance products may be available only through prescreened offers. Does opting out hurt my credit score? Removing your name from prescreened lists has no effect on your ability to apply for or obtain credit or insurance.

If I decide to opt out, how long will it be before I stop getting prescreened offers? Requests to opt out are processed within five days, but it may take up to 60 days before you stop receiving prescreened offers. What if I opt out and then change my mind? You can use the same toll-free telephone number or website to opt back in.http://capital-one.pissedconsumer.com/constant-unsolicited-mail-to-start-credit-card-20130321394563.html#page-top Will calling 1-888-5-OPTOUT or visiting www.optoutprescreen.com stop all unsolicited offers of credit and insurance?

Calling the opt-out line or visiting the website will stop the prescreened solicitations that are based on lists from the major consumer reporting companies. You may continue to get solicitations for credit and insurance based on lists from other sources.

For example, opting out won't end solicitations from local merchants, religious and charitable associations, professional and alumni associations, and companies with which you already conduct business. To stop mail from groups like these — as well as mail addressed to "occupant" or "resident" — you must contact each source directly.
